In all seriousness, this is just a bit of a check-in. I have been really quiet since my last project release and although I don't feel like I have done a lot, I want everyone to know that I took a bit of a detour down to Florida and am currently working on a passion project.
Myakka Head airport (now amended: Bald Eagle Airfield) was recently bought by YouTuber, Cleetus McFarland, and seeing that video series has enticed me to circle back to a project I started and never completed back in FSX. This is a bit of a first look into how progress is coming along at the airstrip.
Mind you, this is very much a work in progress, and the airstrip is nowhere near complete.

It's just a video I decided to do to demonstrate my current workflow, tricks, and thought process while working on a simple low-poly cabin model. A few days after recording the video, I did go back and correct some proportions and the center support positioning, which I did not record.
A lot of context has been removed because I was a noob and recorded the wrong screen multiple times throughout the video. Most of that has been cut as it was useless info without a visual to go with it.
I may try to do another one of these in the future (maybe it will go smoother), but up next I'm thinking about painting a Cabin in Substance Painter and sharing that. Let me know if you want to see that workflow!

Forwood Farm (EGH2) is a quiet farm airstrip in the countryside of East Retford in the UK. The airstrip is a popular Caravanner location with miles of trails to explore and is also home to towplanes.uk which operates the PZL Wilga 35A G-BUNC offering towing services from banners to gliders around the UK.
This scenery has been created in partnership with Got Friends who traveled to Forwood Farm to record sounds from G-BUNC for their Wilga addon. Mykrode and 270inc played a huge role in the modeling and texturing of assets for this project.
Forwood Farm has been brought to life in incredible detail, using nearly all custom libraries which have been directly integrated into the package, requiring no dependencies. This is a rarity of Emerald Scenery Design addons and will not become the norm, but due to the collaborative nature of this package, and the fact that it has also been bundled with the Got Friends Wilga, it needed to be stand-alone!

I felt like taking a step back and not doing anything too crazy for the edit of this one. In fact, there is no music used at all in the video. It's pretty much the raw footage, lightly edited with some external shots spliced in here and there.
This video was shot about a month ago, and I'm just now finding time to edit it, so some of the statements in the beginning are a little inaccurate now!
I have 4 new videos I recorded that I will be working on getting edited. They will be pretty lightly edited as well, and going down the nostalgia rabbit hole, so little fancy editing should be needed!
I am working on multiple projects for MSFS at the moment, so there's not a lot of time to spare. However, expect a video on one of the projects coming in the near future!

[NOTICE] An updated note for those looking at this tutorial for use with cross-plane vegetation. I originally made this tutorial with development for the flight sims MSFS, FSX, & P3D. However, with much more experimenting in the months after making this tutorial, I have concluded that using Model Converter X is still the best method for applying flat shading to cross-plane style vegetation (Tutorial linked below).
The demonstrated method in this tutorial will point all the normals towards a fixed point, regardless of their position relative to that point. This means that normals further away from the empty will start to point inward the farther out they are. This is not ideal for flat-shaded vegetation. The normals should always point directly up for proper shading.
It's on my eventual to-do list to redo this video to add better context, but for the time being, I'm leaving it up as it's still a good reference for pointing all normals in a certain direction.
[ALTERNATE METHOD] An alternate method using Model Converter X to edit cross-plane vegetation for FSX, P3D, & MSFS has also been demonstrated here: youtube.com/watch?v=_hVG7VQpZPE

Chunilna Cabin Strip is an unregistered backcountry airport just 6 NM / 11 KM to the Northeast of Talkeetna, Alaska. This private airstrip features a short dirt runway. Departures and landings can be made quite easy going either direction for light aircraft, but anything past a Cub is almost entirely one way in, one way out!
This scenery has been brought to life in incredible detail, with a heavy focus on environmentals. Chunilna Cabin Strip uses almost all custom libraries with the integration of our own Emerald Object Library. Some features include: custom vegetation, 3D trees, several detailed building/shed models, custom ground textures, and environmentally dynamic features, such as butterflies, rain puddles, morel mushrooms, and VFX!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This scenery will initially be available from emeraldscenerydesign.com and store.flightsim.com, with later arrivals at flightsim.to and MSFS Marketplace (Still waiting on replies). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've never been into Gliders much, but was given an offer to join the Discus beta and decided to take the leap.
Boy am I glad that I did. I have had the opportunity to do a couple flights with the developers and a few others on the beta team, which has quickly made this Discus one of my new favorite addons.
This wasn't a video I was planning on making, but I hit record anyways, and I'm glad that I did.
Tune in to enjoy an hour of casual discussion and gliding! (This video has been edited down a bit to make it more manageable)
