Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal/rock band founded in 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt.Their music is described as symphonic metal, although their earlier material, such as Enter, was gothic metalIn an interview, den Adel said they fell into a symphonic rock genre with various influences. The group consists of Craig Mabbitt (lead vocalist), Robert Ortiz (drummer), Bryan "Monte" Money (lead guitarist and backing vocalist), Michael Money (rhythm guitarist), and Thomas "TJ" Bell (bassist and backing vocalist). They have released three EPs and three full-length studio albums. Dying Is Your Latest Fashion was the band's debut album and only album to feature vocalist Ronnie Radke. This War Is Ours, released on October 21, 2008, This album departed from the band's earlier emo, darker sound, to a more hard rock, mainstream sound. Less screamed vocals are used, and the album was cited to have a varied, mixed sound changing from track to track. It is the first Escape the Fate album to feature former blessthefall singer Craig Mabbitt on vocals, the album debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard 200, selling 13,000 copies in the first week. Their self-titled third studio album was released worldwide on November 2, 2010. After a breakup in late 1995, the band regrouped in 1997 under its current name with a line-up consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band's lead guitarist. The band is based in Toronto.

Rise Against is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in summer 1999. The band currently consists of Tim McIlrath (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Zach Blair (lead guitar, backing vocals), Joe Principe (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Brandon Barnes (drums, percussion). Rise Against spent its first five years signed to the independent record label Fat Wreck Chords, on which it released two studio albums, The Unraveling (2001) and Revolutions per Minute (2003). Both the albums met with considerable underground success, and in 2003 the band signed with the major label Geffen. Their major label debut Siren Song of the Counter Culture brought the band mainstream success, producing several successful singles. Their next two albums, The Sufferer & the Witness and Appeal to Reason, were also successful and peaked at number ten and number three on the Billboard 200 chart respectively. Delain is a Dutch symphonic metal band formed in 2002 by former Within Temptation keyboardist Martijn Westerholt and Charlotte Wessels. In 2001, Martijn was forced to leave Within Temptation after contracting Pfeiffer's disease. In 2002, he formed Delain. In the same year, they independently released the demo Amenity. After the demo, Martijn left the project behind for a bit, but continued to write music. In 2005, he joined with Charlotte Wessels, and was signed to Roadrunner Records. At the time, the band was envisioned as a musical project featuring a host of guest musicians, and not as a live band.

Disturbed is an American heavy metal band from Chicago, Illinois. The band's members are vocalist David Draiman, guitarist Dan Donegan, bassist John Moyer, and drummer Mike Wengren. Former band members were vocalist Erich Awalt and bassist Steve "Fuzz" Kmak. Formed in 1994 as Brawl, the band was renamed Disturbed in 1996 after Draiman was hired as the band's new vocalist. Since the band's formation, they have sold over 13 million albums worldwide, making them one of the largest grossing metal/rock bands in recent years.[1] The band has released five studio albums, four of which have consecutively debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200. The band went into an indefinite hiatus in October 2011, and the band's members are currently working on various side projects.

Delain is a Dutch symphonic metal band formed in 2002 by former Within Temptation keyboardist Martijn Westerholt and Charlotte Wessels. In 2001, Martijn was forced to leave Within Temptation after contracting Pfeiffer's disease. In 2002, he formed Delain. In the same year, they independently released the demo Amenity. After the demo, Martijn left the project behind for a bit, but continued to write music. In 2005, he joined with Charlotte Wessels, and was signed to Roadrunner Records. At the time, the band was envisioned as a musical project featuring a host of guest musicians, and not as a live band.

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario, Canada in 1992, originally under the name Groundswell.
