I had so much fun getting creative with these stencils! My obvious favorite was the snowflake design and it lent itself to masculine designs well. I added all the cards I made with these stencils, but only had time for 2 in the video. However, let me know in the comments if there are others in the video you'd like to see tutorials for.

Living in the Midwest, we have spectacular Fall colors and they're just starting to show. One of my favorite things to do as well as one of my fondest childhood memories is walking through the woods in the fall, finding gorgeous leaves, breathing fresh, cool air and spending time with loved ones. I lost my mom in May and she would have loved the colors and character of this project and not just because I made it. I was born on Halloween and will forever be her pumpkin.

I can't wait to show you how simply these come together, making them great for mass production. When you're working the alcohol inks, there is a degree of variability involved; you wont get the same exact background each time. However, that adds to the handmade-ness and charm that comes with delivering a gift made with your heart. Lets get started!

I hope I've been successful at demonstrating the versatility of solid image stamps such as the snowman we've been playing with lately. A simple explanation to how YouTube works is that the success of the creator is based on minutes viewed and each creator has to have 4000 HOURS a year to maintain monetization. That means we have to have 240,000 minutes of view time per year to earn revenue on the ads YouTube places on the videos you watch. So if you want to support your favorite channel, watch their content, like the video and leave an encouraging comment.
On to the fun stuff! There are two cards in todays video, and several products are used in both cards, but only listed once in the supply list. I am really happy with how these two turned out as I tried a new technique with the shaker. I'm interested to see what you think. Snowmen are a quintessential Christmas and Winter imagery and with the Alcohol Lift technique I used, you get 2 cards out of each background. Frosty the Snowman (the original cartoon from the 80's) being one of my favorite nostalgic movies, I can't help but hear the song in my head. Let's get started.

Nuvo Glitter Gloss pen: ellenhutson.com/tonic-nuvo-aqua-shimmer-pen-2-pk/#_a_186Scrapping For Less August Card Kit Tutorial 1 with Copics and StencilingJasmine Burgess2018-09-22 | Hey guys! I have something special to share with you today. Teresa from Scrapping For Less asked me to review their card kit and I was excited to see what goodies she would include. Card kits can be a mixed bag depending on who you buy yours from. Some are heavy on what I consider filler items such as patterned papers, ribbon and stickers or die cuts and have few useful items such as stamps, dies, stencils or inks. SFL's kit, however, includes several well thought out mini kits with a stamp set, patterned paper, sequins, and embellishments in addition to stencils, high quality card stock, dies and 4 envelopes. I was impressed with the value of the kit. If your friends are pet lovers, you'll have just want you need for a perfect card. If you'd like to see a review of the contents here's the video at my YouTube channel.
For my supplies, I've listed and linked only the items that aren't included in the kit.
Little Things Garden Flowers Jasmine and Peony: lucys-shop.com/products/garden-flowers-jasmineFuschias and A Hummingbird with Copics and FaithJasmine Burgess2018-07-30 | Hey guys! Todays project has simple coloring and minimal embellishments while being quite pretty. I'm one of those crafters who likes bling and upping the wow factor, but I wanted to demonstrate that it's not always necessary and sometimes, less IS more. Fuchsias are sentimental for me because I grew up with them; my mom loves them and she always had several baskets hanging around the house. Hummingbirds are sentimental because my nephew loves them and always says "Jazz, look at the hummingbirds" when he sees them at his feeders. I'm still young at 36, but as I get older, I'm realizing how important moments are with the people you love. This card is full of memories and faith and so much love.
Delicata Golden Glitz: ellenhutson.com/delicata-ink-pad-golden-glitz/#_a_186Soft Encouragement Card with Ink Blending and a StencilJasmine Burgess2018-07-25 | Hello!! I know it's been a minute since I've posted a project or video. Sometimes life gets in the way of art and you have to prioritize. My husband is in Stage 5 Kidney Failure and is on the transplant list. As you can imagine, that has taken all of my focus over the past several weeks and I've needed to get back to my studio to restore myself a bit. Todays project was inspired by two elements in my life; my faith in Jesus and my friends and family that have rallied around my husband and I to support us. God is amazing.
Little Things Pearls Glossy Thistle Mix: lucys-shop.com/collections/pearls/products/pearls-glossy-thistle-mixSpring Themed Card Collab with Gerry from Gerrys Craft Room Part 2Jasmine Burgess2018-06-23 | Gerrys video: youtu.be/Tp_BtlgzFl410 cards using Foils, Transfer Gel and a LaminatorJasmine Burgess2018-05-19 | Hello! Todays video has 10 cards in it with a simple foiling technique that is quite versatile and will help you get more out of the dies you already have in your stash. I didn't new any of my newer dies for this; they're all a few years old. My goal with this card design was to think outside the typical and find new uses for my stuff. I used transfer gel and heat-transfer foils for these cards, so you'll need a laminator. However, you don't need one that is uber expensive. Mine was $18. A cool thing about these foils is that you can usually get at least 2 cards out of a sheet of foil and I'll show you how to use the negative. I had so much fun designing and creating these cards, so lets get started. Using older products in videos, sometimes things have been discontinued and I came across that issue with this video. I've done my best to find similar products to serve the same purpose although they may not be identical.
White Cardstock: ellenhutson.com/a-cardstock-neenah-classic-crest-solar-white-250-sheet-ream/#_a_186Spring Themed Cards Collaboration with Gerry from Gerrys Craft Room Part 1Jasmine Burgess2018-05-12 | Hello there! I don't know about you, but I am so excited that it's finally warming up outside. We have had the weirdest weather in the Midwest over the past few weeks, but I think it's safe to say it's SPRING! Gerry, from Gerry's Craft Room and I decided to do a little collaboration. We each created backgrounds and exchanged them so that I could finish the cards with her backgrounds and she finish cards with my backgrounds. And without discussing what we'd use, both reached for Distress Oxide inks. Both cards could be gender neutral, especially if your guy likes birds. The second one with the cupcake, was made with my husband in mind, as it was his birthday around the time I was crafting and he loves loves loves cupcakes. The colors Gerry used in the background made it perfect for a masculine design, so I carried that through with a Tim Holtz Blueprint stamp and bold die cut letters for the sentiment.
Usually, when I do collaborations with other artists on YouTube, I have footage of the creations of my backgrounds and the completed cards. However, for this project, the gremlins got my footage. So while I can't show you how I created them, I can list what I used. Sorry! So frustrating... Anyway, heres Gerry's channel:
Check out my blog post! journeywithjasmine.blogspot.com/2018/05/spring-themed-cards-collaboration-with.htmlMothers Day Watercolor Colab with MaaikeJasmine Burgess2018-05-05 | Hello and Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom's out there! Moms are superheros in my book. They don't get a day off, work tirelessly, love compassionately, and always have to be prepared for battle. Thinking of my own Mom and how she managed to raise 4 kids mostly by herself as my Dad was in the Navy and away on deployment most of the time, it's astounding how she didn't implode. I totally own up to the fact that I wasn't easy to raise. I didn't get into real trouble much, but I pushed her patience as far as I could far too often. With this card, I wanted to do something she would love. My Mom loves everything I make, and always has, but as we get older and each year passes, I become more aware of the fragility of life and how I wont have her forever. Things are an inadequate way to express how much someone means to you, but sometimes it's the best/ only way you have. Handmade items are special because you take the time to create it, usually with someone specific in mind. So I went back to my roots with this card. My mom indulged my creative interests from a young age, taught me about Jesus, how to cook, bake, paint, draw, sew, garden and otherwise be courageous and unafraid to try new things. She is and always will be my hero. I love you, Mom.
Maaike and I teamed up for a Mothers Day collaboration and you can find her video here: youtu.be/rJioywskcJg

Happy Mermaiding!Foil, Oxides, Arteza, Zig and Copic: 6 cards with the Brutus Monroe Mermaid Inspiration BoxJasmine Burgess2018-03-31 | So much goodness in this box! Today we are playing with the Brutus Monroe Mermaid Inspiration Box and I have made 6 cards to share with you. I had to limit myself to 6 because I certainly could have kept going! I've used lots of techniques so that there's lots of variety and originality between each one. In the kit you get cardstock, embellishments, ink, a stamp set, a die, ready to foil panels in 4 different patterns, embossed panels and vellum. Each kit is a little different and I love that. I tend not to buy card kits because they tend to come with a lot of supplies I just don't use such as washi tape, patterned paper and ribbon and most of the time the stamp set is tired and boring. However, I've been pleasantly surprised with Monroe's kits and will keep buying them. Lets move to the exciting part: the cards!
Let me know in the comments if you enjoy this style of video, or if you'd rather have a series of videos, maybe one or two cards per video so that the videos are shorter, but you still get lots of ideas.

It was actually an experiment that went really right! I used the Peony Coverplate die from Papertrey Ink and die cut it to see if it would work as a stencil for the Deco Foil transfer gel. After using the gel and letting both pieces dry, I ran both through my laminator and was ecstatic with the results. I used a textured cardstock I've had in my stash forever because it's a little heavier and that texture gave the foiled piece a really cool, vintage vibe that I liked better than the stenciled piece. I used Amethyst Watercolor foil with it, so it has variegated purple tones and it just stunning. I HAD to use it on a card. I wanted to keep the ink blending really soft so that the foiling would stand out and to give it another texture. And for one more element of texture, I dry embossed the white cardstock that I then ink-blended. If you watched my alcohol ink video using this same die, then you'll be familiar with how I used the diecut to guide where I placed my colors of ink. To finish it off, I added a die-cut sentiment in a medium teal and my card was complete.

If you haven't tried one of Brutus Monroe's Inspiration Boxes, you are missing out! Brutus Monroe always has images that are different and a bit funky and original. They're attractive and versatile, making them suitable for both genders. Masculine cards are something that tend to be difficult, so finding a stamp set and card kit that lend themselves to guy suitable cards is a rare find indeed. These kits include a stamp set, cardstock, patterned paper, ink, foilable panels (toner printed panels ready to receive foil), and embellishments. I have lots of leftovers to play with as well. So lets get to the good stuff; the cards! I've made 5 cards, each with a different image and sentiment from the stamp set and a sixth card with leftovers from creating the others.
Everything is listed and linked over on my blog: journeywithjasmine.blogspot.com/2018/03/brutus-monroe-unicorn-inspiration-box.htmlBrutus Monroe and Arteza Brush Pens Watercolor RoseJasmine Burgess2018-03-07 | Is that a gorgeous rose or what? Sometimes it's nice to get a little lost in coloring and the Enchanted Rose from Brutus Monroe is nice and large, so it allows you to take a little time and wander through a rose garden of your own making. I've always loved coloring because you can do what you want. Blue horse? Sure, why not? While this rose may never appear in nature, it's lovely and wonderful and fun. I had fun trying out the Arteza Brush Pens on this project. They're a water based ink and are very similar to Zig clean color markers and you can use them interchangeably as well as together, which I did in the lavender rose in the top left corner. Because there's lots of lovely bright color going on in the rose, I kept the rest of the card simple.
