Tim RosanelliWell, I checked my Black Garlic in my compost bin. It was a success in that I got black garlic but in the future, I'd do a few things differently.
First, the mason jar lid rusted away and the jar got extremely dirty. The next time I'd put the mason jar in a plastic zip lock bag to protect it.
Update! Black Garlic in Compost BinTim Rosanelli2017-08-30 | Well, I checked my Black Garlic in my compost bin. It was a success in that I got black garlic but in the future, I'd do a few things differently.
First, the mason jar lid rusted away and the jar got extremely dirty. The next time I'd put the mason jar in a plastic zip lock bag to protect it.

In a cast iron, melt butter and saute garlic scapes for about 3 minutes. Add and warm milk in cast iron.
Add Butter, milk, and garlic scape mixture to potatoes then add 1 tsp salt. Mix and mash potatoes to desired consistency.

After I braid the garlic and hang it in my basement for a year, the garlic cloves dry completely out. I take the dried cloves and crush them into powder with a mortar and pestle. Here's a link to my Mortar and Pestle used in the video. amazon.com/dp/B082XKBFYP?tag=onamzmaxiimpa-20&linkCode=ic5&ascsubtag=amzn1.infl.us.product&creativeASIN=B082XKBFYP&ref=exp_trosanelli_dp_vv_d

It uses my Trail of Tears Black Beans and plum tomatoes from the garden. Next year, I plan on growing the onions, jalapenos, and cilantro too.
Ingredients 1 lb Dry Black Beans 8 cups corn 1/2 cup lime juice 1/3 cup olive oil 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 4 tbsp salt 2 tbsp black pepper 5 lbs tomatoes – cored, peeled, and chopped 9 jalapenos – chopped (optional) 2 red onion – chopped (you can use white) 1 cup cilantro – chopped
Soak beans overnight in cold water. Drain and rinse the beans. Cover with fresh water and bring to a boil. Turn heat down and simmer from 30 minutes. While the beans simmer, combine the rest of the ingredient and mix in a large bowl. Drain the beans and add to the salsa mixture. Mix all ingredient. To can, boil a pot of water. Fill clean jars 3/4 of the way with the salsa. Add boiling water to fill the jars leaving 1" of headspace. Put the lids and bands on the filled jars. Use manufacture instructions to complete. I used 11 pounds of pressure for 1hr and 15 minutes. Update: Changed Fill clean jars from 1/2 to 3/4. Changed salt from 4 tsp salt to 4 tbsp. Changed pepper from 2 tsp to 2 tbsp. ------------------------------ Check out my Amazon Page for Featured Products amazon.com/shop/trosanelli ------------------------------ SUBSCRIBE: http://tinyurl.com/SubscribeEverydaySensei BLOG: http://TimRosanelli.blogspot.com FACEBOOK: facebook.com/trosanelli INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/trosanelli MAXIMUM IMPACT KARATE WEBSITE: http://www.maximpactkarate.com MY 60 SITUPS CHALLENGE: http://60situpschallenge.blogspot.com ------------------------------Rustic White Bean Soup with Grilled Tomatoes and OnionsTim Rosanelli2021-08-25 | This White Bean Soup is a favor of ours.
