Undertale - Reunited Woodwind Arrangementjordan.12102016-02-15 | A woodwind ensemble arrangement of Undertale OST 92 - Reunited for C piccolo, C flute, C oboe, Bb clarinet, Bb bass clarinet, Eb alto sax, Bb tenor sax, and Eb bari sax.
2020 has been a hard year for everyone, but if there is one good thing that has come out of it, for me it's probably the current Black Lives Matter and many other social justice movements happening throughout the U.S.
#saxophone #blm #blacklivesmatter
I have been a strong advocate of these movements and passionately participated in a variety of protests in San Diego shortly after I graduated. During one of these, an Artists for Black Lives protest, one singer beautifully sang this song, and I knew I needed to arrange this. I remember watching the movie Hairspray a lot as a child and now realize how many of its themes are still relevant today.
My arrangement is based off of the Queen Latifa recording for the 2007 movie adaptation of Hairspray, trying to transcribe the vocals as accurately as possible. Some background parts were also drew inspiration from a piano score I found online. I have included a quintet version and a quintet with added sax choir.
I wanted to share the sheet music now but am currently working with friends to record full cover to post soon.

Since I just graduated from UCSD, I figured it was a suitable time to share this mashup that I've had sitting around for a while in celebration to all the new graduates. Congratulations to all! All your hard work has paid off.
It's pretty common knowledge that many songs follow the Canon in D chord progression, and I've had a growing list of songs that I've thought of mashing with it. When I first heard Memories, I thought of it as basically Canon with lyrics. After finding a video on Youtube from MinJu Angela Song, I was motivated to make this.
Arranging was fairly easy since most of the background is from Canon, which is easily accessible online. As for the reason it's in C despite the title, it's because the three songs are in D, C, and B, so I took the "average" of C, which also makes it easier to play (but wasn't the main reason). Also, I found that the three songs were pretty fitting, since they're all kinda cheesy, overplayed songs. I just wish I had time to actually record a cover of this in time for graduation.

I've had this transcription done for a while, just never got around to posting it. I quite like their arrangement (haven't listened much to the original) and the parts seem pretty fun and interesting for everyone (except maybe tenor; give her fun parts!), so I transcribed it in hopes that the sax ensemble I'm part of can play it. I also made a version with some of the alto melody moved over to tenor, just to give the tenor a more interesting part.
I also have some transciptions/arrangements of some other songs, so hopefully I can get around to posting them soon too!

Another mashup, this time quite different from what I'm used to arranging. I started arranging just High Hopes but found it too repetitive for my likes so I tried doing a mashup with it. Found some inspiration on YouTube and this is the result.
I probably spent more time on this than any other arrangement in the past since it's the first one that a significant part is electronic, specifically pitched drums. Still really happy with how it came out. Parts were written with certain players of HopSax in mind and the POP/STARS rap was written to be either rapped or played by an alto player (depending on what they are comfortable with).

Name is a modified take on the brasshouse style of Too Many Zooz.
While the background parts are pretty simple and repetitive, each solo section is pretty difficult and admittedly, I didn't intend for this to be played live, although it probably could be if you get a good enough group. Clarinet uses G minor pentatonic (in Bb) for its solo, while tenor and bari use F major pentatonic (in Bb and Eb, respectively) and all use the majority of the range (and yes, those clarinet notes are possible :D)
I hope to write other things in this style in the future. Hope you enjoy!

Like my other mashup, I'm really happy how this arrangement came out. I was only going to combine Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Misery Business initially, but I eventually wanted to mash the five songs together. The bulk of the song was supposed to be a mashup of Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Misery Business with the other songs serving as little cameos. I didn't write a full percussion part because this was intended for my street performing group, where the included percussion parts are meant to be clapped/stomped by performers. Growing up liking rock music, Boulevard of Broken Dreams was always a favorite so it was cool to do an arrangement including it.

I'm really happy with how this mashup came out! Once I realized that Havana's background/bass sounded the same as Smooth's, I knew I wanted to do an arrangement of it. There are many others that have done similar things but none of them satified me, I wanted a mashup that would switch between the songs, not place the lyrics of one on top of the bass of another. This arrangement came out exactly how I wanted it and I really hope to play it soon.
Sorry for my extended absence, life's been busy :)
Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while, I've been arranging but mostly with already existing scores that I haven't personally changed much so I didn't feel right posting it. That being said, I do have some stuff that I've worked on for performing groups I'm part of, so I should have more content.
I am quite proud of this composition, but for some reason I haven't posted it until now (I created it some time in January). Going with the title, it's supposed to have feel inspirational to all walks of life
Thanks to everyone who have stayed with me and supported me for all this time! Look forward to more content!

Ever since we discussed it in my high school music class, minimalism has always appealed to me, especially as a beginning composer. Here was an attempt at using minimalism, picking 5 clarinets and having them each have their own melody that builds on the previous one, progressively getting more difficult.
An original composition for pep band. Instrumentation for piccolo, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, French horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, sousaphone, glockenspiel, and drumset.
For some reason, the compositions keep coming! I’ve been wanting to do something in 3/4 time and up beat for a while now and this was something I just whipped up today! Didn’t really have any preset things going in, just let the imagination flow. Listening to it made me imagine a plains setting with a hero racing towards his destiny. It also reminded me of level music for a video game so I rendered it with a NES soundfont I found too :D

Well I thought I was done arranging Undertale songs, but here is an arrangement of His Theme for ocarinas. For some reason I thought of the idea while on Skype with UOO members and one of them (Zeph) mentioned ocarinas and His Theme XD
I've been wanting to compose something recently but couldn't really come up with anything good until this. Not the most complicated, I went for a simplistic piece that tries to the conveyance of remembering something or someone lost, the mourning at the beginning and eventually remembering the fond memories that you had with them, something that I've wanted to do with music since I lost my grandma in June. She had such a big influence on my life and I wanted to do something as tribute.

Undertale has had such an impact on my life, allowing me to experience music in a new way and meet a bunch of amazing people. Really, if it wasn't for this game, I probably wouldn't have started arranging and make this channel.
The first arrangement on this channel was this song and I was so proud of it. I wanted to go back and change it to be played by the Undertale Online Orchestra, which we are planned to do eventually. The result was this "remastered" version. I really hope you enjoy it.
Not really a new arrangement, but I wanted a way to show my appreciation for the game that had such an impact on my life and give back to you guys. Happy 1st birthday Undertale!
I really enjoyed watching Assassination Classroom with its great mix of humor and emotion and felt like doing an arrangement of it. This actually started with me playing this song on ocarina and then it grew into a full arrangement. I tried to be as accurate as possible, minus the guitar solo because I just couldn't figure it out. Enjoy!

After recommendation by friends at school (specifically my gf), I watched Fullmetal Alchemist. It was a very enjoyable anime to watch, although the ending left things to be desired, and I felt like doing a cover of the recurring song "Brothers" on ocarina. I have since finished Brotherhood and developed an anime addiction :P
The base arrangement is not mine; however, I included chords through the usage of multiple ocarinas. I hope you enjoy! A link to the arrangement is below.

At my school, we have to do a senior project, which includes a research paper and a project. I decided to do my senior project on composing music and here's my first composition. It's designed for a chamber group and focuses on conveying emotions and imagery through its different movements. It also includes minimalist ideas. I am working to get this performed at my graduation ceremony by my school's band. Thanks so much.

Hey guys! As I wind down on my Undertale arrangements, I thought it would be a good idea to combine some of my arrangements into a mini medley to listen to! Enjoy!

A woodwind ensemble arrangement of Undertale OST 72 - Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans for piccolo, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, and bari sax.
A lot of my subscribers really wanted to see an arrangement of Battle Against a True Hero, so I had to deliver! While I originally intended to do a clarinet only version, I really felt it was best to go for a larger woodwind ensemble with the extra trumpet and bass guitar. I really love how this came out and I hope it was worth the wait for you guys!
I've been a fan of Pokémon for awhile, so when I heard that Pokémon's 20th Anniversary was this year (February 27, 2016), I decided to do an arrangement to celebrate the occasion. What better way than the original theme from the anime?
I had originally planned to record this as a cover, but I got too busy, plus I lost the drive to record it. I still really like this arrangement so I wrote in the solos I had planned and decided to upload it with a digital playback.
I've spent a lot of time on this one, working to try to implement as many themes from the game. Overall, I've managed to include nearly all of the main monster's themes within this cover. Try to find them and name them all, there's 6 included! They may not be exact, many of the notes have been changed, but the rhythms stay the same. They are also written in the sheet music!
A symphonic rock/pep band arrangement of Irresistible by Fall Out Boy for flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, tenor sax, bari sax, trumpet, bass trombone, electric guitar, electric bass, and drumset.
I have always enjoyed listening to rock music and this is one of the songs I've been listening to a lot recently. I know it's a bit different than what is usually on this channel, but I wanted to do this.
I got a request for this yesterday from a viewer, so I looked into it. The song was simple enough (really only requiring one clarinet) and short, so I decided to do it. Here's to you!
Note: I won't always take viewer suggestions, since they may get too much, but if I like your suggestion, I may do it. Due to popular demand, I will most likely do an arrangement of Spider Dance in the future.

The Undertale Online Orchestra is a great group of people that is dedicated to arranging every song from the Undertale soundtrack and recording them with real instruments!
We are still looking for more musicians, especially those playing low or unusual instruments. However, space is filled for saxophones and pianos.
We plan to begin in February and continue until we are finished! Be sure to check out the google page and musescore group for updates! In addition, don't hesitate to ask any questions you have, I'll be more than happy to answer them!
