Andrew B 2025-06-11 | Do you struggle with making a decent wholemeal loaf, I did.I tried bread machines, recipes from books, the internet and YouTube, but none of them seemed to make a decent loaf. I couldn't get a decent rise and they all came out like bricks.I then took bits from one recipe and ideas from others, and for me this is the best loaf I have ever made, even my family like eating it.You will need, 500g of strong bread flour (100g white, 400g wholemeal), 7g of yeast (or a little sachet), 7g of salt, 15g of oil (Vegetable or olive), and 320ml of hand warm water.A set of weighing scales, a mixing bowl, a mixer with dough hooks, an oven, loaf tin (with high sides), and a timer.
