**NEW** The official 20th anniversary Chrono Arrange album is available now on the Square-Enix website! You can listen to a full arrangement of this song, as well as two others I contributed (Schala's Theme and "On the Other Side"... also known as To Good Friends)... I really hope you enjoy! Working with Mitsuda and his team was such an honor, and a truly wonderful experience ^__^ http://www.square-enix.co.jp/music/sem/page/harukanaru
I've been wanting to do Corridors of Time (the music you hear while walking around the Kingdom of Zeal) for so long, but it's such a beautiful piece that I never felt that I could add anything to it to make it worth remixing. I was finally inspired to write some lyrics for it from the perspective of Schala, and I worked in a bit of Schala's theme as well as a bit of original stuff.
I really hope you like it as much as I enjoyed working on it ^_^ As you guys probably know, Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time, and this location was particularly special to me. Incidentally, I didn't realize it was Chrono Trigger's 20th Anniversary last week... so when I realized I'd be finishing the music track *on that day* I was very happy.
Also, I apologize for the sporadic uploads... I've been hard at work on my game (Rakuen), but I have some more videos in mind so I'll keep you guys updated :) Take care and stay healthy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Fall" Original Composer: Yasunori Mitsuda Lyrics/Vocals/Piano: Laura Shigihara
I wake from this dream, but I can't tell you the things that I've seen I'd leave it behind, if I could just change her mind I can't believe, the things that you are telling me
But something deep inside makes me feel this really isn't a paradise
Familiar to me, did you cross over an eternity We're both so alone, a warmth that we'd never known So stay with me, before our world starts crumbling
Cuz something deep inside makes me feel this really isn't a paradise
I'm falling asleep, all the promises that I meant to keep The sweetest of dreams, was my life just taken from me? If I return, If I could change from what I've learned
We'd never have to hide, everything would be alright in this paradise -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the tour, we got coffee from Brewster, and I sang "Old Cafe" while sitting in The Roost.

This song was the finale from our 2020 Halloween event "Saitou-corp." It's 13 tips for how to have a "long day" (a Llama-Worm phrase that means "a full/meaningful/good") sandwiched between business buzzwords and phrases. Hope you enjoy. And don't forget to creative whiteboard before you get wrecked.
Also, the backtrack comes from something I composed for my friend Andy's game Dunk Lords, which you can check out on Steam! store.steampowered.com/app/612640/Dunk_Lords (it's the Haunted Mansion level music)
Background: As a kid, Akira loved Mega Man and made up a bunch of robot bosses (like "Bike Man"). So for his birthday last year, we decided to bring Bike Man to life for him, complete with his own NES style theme music, and radical bike-pose! Hahaha~
Context: This is the final boss from "Mega Shigi," which is a game my friends (Lopar, Akira, Lunar, Emmy, and Jon) made for my birthday last year. It's hilarious, fun and somehow also heartwarming. I HIGHLY recommend checking it out here: lopar.itch.io/megashigi
The rap lyrics were written by insomniac_rap, and the music is by Akira! Check out insomniac's stream here: twitch.tv/insomniac_rap
This was performed during a "Rapid Fire Request" segment. Basically, chat will throw out all sorts of random music for me to play (TV commercials, 90s hip hop, video game music, cartoon theme songs, originals, etc.), and I'll try to do as many as I can! Sometimes they'll ask me to "mood flip" songs as well (i.e. "jazz version of Darkwing Duck," "happy version of Mad World," etc.)
Tiny Planets is the music that plays when you return Sue's various marbles to her throughout the game. The Llama-Worms (Saitou-san, Wide-tou, Odd-tou) are all regulars on the show :)
While playing Animal Crossing New Horizons, I noticed the 2pm music sounded a lot like Spinning Wheel (by Blood Sweat and Tears). I also noticed that as much as I love the game, Nook Miles can sometimes feel like a Hamster Wheel. I also noticed that I have a Hamster Wheel in game. Hope you enjoy this product of the quarantine. Note: Neither Steven nor I were high on anything but life while making this.
Hi everyone! It's been a LONG time since I've released a new original song, so I'm extra excited to share this with you folks! This is the ending credits song for a ridiculously fun game called "Dunk Lords" which just came out yesterday. It's a super fun, over-the-top NBA Jam style basketball game; you can uppercut people, steal the ball by knocking them over with a motorcycle, dunk through the ceiling, play as all sorts of different characters (a bear, a robot, a karaoke machine, etc.). I'm super happy with how the soundtrack turned out, too. Lots of melodic 90s video game synth, hip hop, jazz/funk, I hope you enjoy!Video Game Composer plays Reqest List Medley at 1.5-2x speedsupershigi2020-02-01 | I was challenged to play through my request list at 1.5-2x speed (by ear/memory), so I accepted! At twitch.tv/supershigi I do this and many other things :) The medley went on for over an hour, but here are a handful of the songs I started out with:
1.) Far away from here (Laura Shigihara) 2.) Cube Land (Laura Shigihara) 3.) On the Other Side/To Good Friends - Chrono Trigger (Yasunori Mitsuda/Laura Shigihara) 4.) Rainbow Connection - The Muppet Movie 5.) Rouge Message - Kiki's Delivery Service 6.) Go the Distance - Hercules 7.) Wish My Life Away - Finding Paradise (Laura Shigihara)
1.) diversify chords - try to learn all the variations for particular chords, so that you can change it up. 2.) diversify dynamics 3.) have the right hand play both melody as well as melody + chords 4.) use suspensions 5.) change the tempo/intensity (go from playing higher notes sparsely and gently, to playing a more full/louder arrangement during more exciting parts) 6.) interchange certain chords (Dm/F, C/Am) to add variety of feeling 7.) use transitional chords before going to the relative minor. For example: if you're going from G to Am, put a Gb (E major chord) in there as you're walking up the keyboard.
And at the end, I play a mood flipped version of "All Star," including examples of all 7 tips :)

Chat had to follow clues, solve riddles, and answer trivia questions in a scavenger hunt style search for our beloved bot, Saitou-san. This is the finale, an original song featuring 3D characters from Rakuen, including Wallshroom, the Shimeji Guards, and Saitou-san performing his unique dancing moves.

I actually had no idea they had used this music for anything, until some folks told me about it a while back! Since then, many people have asked if they could hear the full version, but it wasn't until last month that I was able to find the original track on my old computer. So here it is, completely unedited and in its original form. I hope you enjoy!
