I wanted to share a few tender moments I had recently with my beloved Dante the King. He is truly the most affectionate stallion; he’s a big, beautiful cuddle bug through and through!The other day, as I was preparing him for a ride, he stood quietly ground-tied while I brushed and tacked him up. When I knelt down to put on his sport boots, he did the most endearing thing: he gently lowered his magnificent head and tucked it between my arms, sweetly asking for a hug.As I wrapped my arms around him, he closed his eyes in pure contentment. I could feel his love and gratitude so deeply—it was one of those magical moments that takes your breath away. He constantly lets me know how grateful he is to be home. He gives hugs often when I’m standing beside him, but this time, kneeling there as he bowed down to meet me, it felt even more special. That quiet gesture of love will stay with me always.And this morning brought more sweetness with my beloved Dante… Our kind friend came by again to help move some sand to even out the depth in the paddocks. I had him drop a few loads in Dante’s new area, and afterward, I leveled it by hand with a shovel (my favorite way to get a productive workout!).Dante stayed by my side the entire hour; he melted my heart as he gave me sweet nuzzles… As I neared the end, I was tuckered out. He sensed my fatigue; he gently leaned his shoulder into mine, letting me know I could lean on him for strength, which I gladly did… He helped renew my energy just by being there—steady, strong, and adoring.It’s the little moments like these that often mean the most. Our Arena is Complete! Carol & Dante the King 2025-05-28 | Hi, friends! The arena is finally finished! My amazing husband put up the last panels to separate it from Dante’s stall, then carefully groomed the footing to make it just right for us. It turned out beautifully, and both Dante and Ziggy are thrilled with the changes! They both have frolicked around enthusiastically as they inspected it all And Dante now has a larger paddock right off his stall—he’s loving it. It warms my heart to see him and Ziggy happily content and relaxed. I have had a lot of fun playing with Dante and Ziggy in our new setup... Dante gave me the most heart-melting gesture the other day when I went out to play ball with him. When he heard me, he cantered across the arena to meet me at the gate! How precious is that? He’s such a momma’s boy! It fills my heart to see how much he adores our time together. He truly lights up my soul every single day; I hope he does yours as well. The other day, I tossed one of our Buddy Balls (we have two!) over the fence into the arena area to play ball with Dante. He played with it for a bit but lay me know that he preferred to be near me instead—he's such a cuddle bug! That kind of love and connection is magical… To feel his angelic essence intertwined lovingly with mine is priceless. It's a deep, soulful feeling that is indescribable. Dante’s gentle, affectionate spirit never fails to move me. The Lord and Cor chose the perfect equine soulmate for me; I'm forever grateful. Bonding spiritually with a horse is an absolute joy and honor. The endless hours, love, devotion, and patience we’ve poured into our bond have created something sacred. It’s incredible what love, kindness, patience, having healthy boundaries can do for a horse’s soul. Update of Neck of the Woods! ♥️ Carol & Dante the King 2025-05-18 | Hi, friends!It has been a wonderful week in the neck of the woods, we received the final delivery of masonry sand to mix in with our cyclone sand we received on Friday. I called Premier Equestrian for advice a couple of weeks ago to get advice on the best footing mixture for dressage, and I’m so grateful I did. They were incredibly helpful and guided me with kindness and clarity. We settled on a 50/50 blend of cyclone and masonry sand—just the right amount of comfort and cushion for our beloved boys.Yesterday, after the last load arrived, my sweet husband, Matthew, put the panels back in place so Dante and Ziggy could enjoy their space again. I introduced them to the new sand piles individually so they will feel relaxed when I put them out to play. They were overjoyed as they kicked up their heels in delight, they pranced around with happy hearts as they displayed their joyful approval. 😄Dante was absolutely precious; as he investigated the sand piles, he was snorting proudly, and he frolicked around. Each time he would come right back to me with joy in his eyes. I could feel how thankful he was—he filled my soul with much love. He knows we're doig this for him; he showed his gratitude as he trotted around cheerfully and gave me tender kisses. ♥️Ziggy was full of playful curiosity too as he checked out the sand piles, he awed at the sand and pranced around. He kept coming back to me with thankful expressions in his eyes, just as Dante did. He gave me sweet kisses of gratitude and love, which warmed my heart deeply. ♥️I'm pleased our boys know how much we love and care for them. Their love and devotion exudes in their radiante auras; they're endearing fur babies.We have lots to look forward to next week! Our friend will be coming over again to spread it all—he has a tractor and landscaping equipment. Dante the King at Liberty 👑 Carol & Dante the King 2025-03-03 | Many of you have asked for longer videos, so here’s one of my magnificent Dante the King from last fall. 📸I’m in awe of him—he is breathtaking—he truly floats! His amazing power and stunning gait are incredible.When he competed in the Netherlands he was awarded two prestigious predicates: Ster and AAA. 🏆His full KFPS registered name is Ysbrand fan ‘t Blocklan, Vb Ster AAA. The AAA predicate is the highest level awarded in the ABFP and IBOP Aptitude Tests, requiring a score of 82 or higher under saddle and harness. Dante’s score was exceptional—he received over 90 points under harness, which is very rare!He is the lightest horse I’ve ever ridden. He is sensitive to my slight aids and has incredible suspension and impulsion. He’s truly outstanding—especially for such a large Friesian stallion.Friesians are a light draft breed and tend to be a heavy ride. Dante is the complete opposite; I call him my twin turbo Friesian!His canter is enchanting, lifting me effortlessly with each stride like he’s dancing on air; it’s exhilarating. He is pure joy to ride!There was an article written about him when he was in the Netherlands, highlighting his top performance in The Friesian Talent Cup. He is a highly gifted stallion! But through patience, love, and my personal method of bonding with horses, his walls came down, and he began to trust and respect me—not just as his leader, but as his forever momma and friend.This video, captured by my husband just three weeks after Dante became part of our family, holds a special place in my heart. To help him settle in, I dedicated the first two weeks solely to bonding and groundwork training, allowing us to build a foundation of trust and connection. Once our hearts became one, we moved on to liberty training—something Dante absolutely loves to do now!In this moment, I was teaching him to trot tightly around me for the first time. Using my body language, a rope halter with a long lead rope, and a dressage whip (as an extension of my arm), I guided him with soft yet clear cues, rewarding him for responding with attentiveness and grace.What made this session extra special was that as he trotted, he naturally moved into the long and low frame—a sign of relaxation that stretches and strengthens the horse’s topline. Seeing him embrace this movement on his own filled me with joy! His talent, athleticism, and willingness to connect truly shined through.He warmed my heart deeply as he would turn and come to me to receive my praise and approval, which he continues to do each day I’m with him. Ground Manner Tips ✨🐴 Carol & Dante the King 2025-01-06 | Happy Monday, friends!I always look forward to waking up and going out to the barn to see our fur babies. I especially enjoy my new routine with Dante of letting him snack in the breezeway while I muck his stall and prepare his and Ziggy’s favorite mash.Dante’s endearing personality captured my heart. I adore how respectful he is now and how he follows me around like a puppy dog. I appreciate when he comes when I call to him and how he shows his love and appreciation with hugs and sweet kisses. He is the most loving boy!I made a video of how I feed them their mash. I am big on having excellent manners for my family and fur babies. As you can see in my video, Dante and Ziggy are both very patient and respectful when I give them their mash, which they love! Their ground manners show their love, trust, and respect for me. They have exceptional manners because I taught them to be this way. Having excellent ground manners is essential for safety; it also instills happiness and confidence in a horse. ➡️ To instill ground manners when feeding, teach your horse to back out of your way upon entering their space. ➡️ I taught our horses to back up by waving my hand and arm in front of me as I step towards them. I also say “back” as I do. ➡️ Horses cannot see behind them; backing up in command is a sign of respect and trust. ➡️ Each time I feed our horses, they back up as I taught them to step out of my way. ➡️ They are not allowed to snatch a bite of the hay until I give them the okay to, just as alpha mares and stallions do in a herd.➡️ Horses need clear boundaries, limitations, and rules, just as we do to feel safe and secure in our environments. ➡️ As the alpha leader of our majestic fur babies, I interact with them with a confident, calm, assuring energy and speak to them with loving kindness. ➡️ They love it when I speak to them in a soft, higher tone of voice and with joyful expressions when we are playing together. How I Get My Horses’ Coats So Shiny! 🤩 Carol & Dante the King 2025-01-01 | Hi, friends!I often get asked how I keep my precious Dante the King’s coat, tail, and mane glistening, so I thought I would share my routine!A gorgeous coat starts from the inside out—it’s all about proper care, nutrition, and lots of TLC (tender loving care). Dante’s stunning coat sheen isn’t from sprays, it comes from a balanced diet of grass hay, high-quality supplements, daily grooming, and regular exercise. (Fun fact: Stallion testosterone also contributes to that glossy look!)I’m big on keeping my horses happy, healthy, and shiny. Did you notice Dante’s coat has dapples? Dapples are a sign of excellent health. Black horses don’t typically dapple; I’m very pleased he has them. Feeding a high-quality diet that meets a horse's daily nutritional requirements is key for dappling potential. Feeding a balanced diet of protein, vitamins, and minerals, and omega-3 oil is essential to promote healthy skin and a shiny coat.How I care for Dante’s Tail: ➡️ I washed Dante’s tail at the end of summer before braiding and bagging it. ➡️ Dante’s tail has grown 3–4 inches this fall, thanks to using a BioMane tail bag. ➡️ Tail bags prevent breakage, tangles, and dirt buildup, keeping his tail long and healthy. ➡️ I use a detangler or conditioner when redoing his tail and mane. ➡️ My secret weapon for Dante’s coat sheen and overall wellness (and mine, too!) is liquid collagen. ➡️ Liquid collagen is the most bioavailable collagen. ➡️ The brand I use of liquid collagen also has hyaluronic acid. It’s been nothing short of magical to see how far we’ve come since he first arrived as a very uneasy, disconnected, edgy, unsafe-to-ride, and out-of-shape stallion.From the moment he stepped off the trailer into my life, he has been so much more than just a horse—he has been a teacher, an example, and a friend.His magnificent spirit is a daily reminder of how enriched my life has been since he joined our eternal family. His healing energy is like nothing I have ever encountered—his essence is of celestial energy—he has an air about him that transcends space and time.When I was so anxious to have to retrain him when he first arrived, his innate wisdom and love helped me to have the courage to climb onto his back when he was a hot mess. I relied on the Lord and Cor for strength, as I had to step into my own power and lean on my intuition to train him. It was a daunting task to say the least; he hadn’t been ridden much at all the two years prior to him coming to me.I said a lot of prayers throughout the day to get me through our first couple of months together, as we leaned on each other, our spirits united in such a profound way that I cannot adequately describe the magnitude of our bond.He let me know that I was the only one who could awaken his spirit. He needed me to be there for him, with an open heart, for him to be able to step into his majestic purpose and embrace his life fully. He has done a truly remarkable job at transforming into the joyful, trusting, loyal, confident, and loving stallion he is now. He has since been like a puppy dog; he follows me everywhere and constantly aims to please.Horses are such incredible teachers and mentors; if we but listen with our hearts, their magical world unfolds before us.Horses teach us life lessons that enrich every aspect of life. They teach us that pure love can lift us to new spiritual heights, heal the brokenhearted, and build self-confidence. Their radiant hearts are vastly impactful and inspiring. They teach us to love unconditionally and to forgive freely, without judgment or guile.I hope being a part of of magical journey has enriched your life too. A Beautiful Day with Dante and Ziggy 🥰 Carol & Dante the King 2024-12-09 | Today was a beautiful day... As my sweet husband mucked the stalls, I hung out with Dante the King and Ziggy as they played together over the panels (for safety). Watching them so happy filled my heart with gratitude. They had a ball frolicking about. Dante was adorable; he kept coming over to me to check in and give me sweet kisses. I adore his endearing, playful personality! He sure knows how to make me smile! They melted my heart as they ran around, nuzzled, and relaxed together; their connection is that of true friendship. They're wonderful examples of how to embrace life to the fullest. Dante the King! ♥️ Carol & Dante the King 2024-12-08 | Hi, guys!I had such a joyous day with my beloved Dante the King! When I got him out of his stall to ride this afternoon, I could sense how happy he was. His radiant eyes sparkled beautifully as he watched me as I went about getting him ready and tacked up. He could sense how cheerful I was too. I like to mix things up when I'm with him. So today, we played with his ball Buddy while I was riding him. He absolutely loved every minute of it! I was tickled pink that he had so much fun chasing the ball around with me on his back. We both had a grin from ear to ear! He loves to hear my laughter when he throws his ball up in the air. Each time he reached down with his teeth and grabbed the ball to throw it around, I could sense how pleased he was to show off for me. When he did, he would look back at me proudly with delight and kiss my boot. My heart melted each time he did. His affectionate personality is uplifting. We had the time of our lives! He was absolutely adorable!! I’ve only played ball with him while riding a couple of times in the past. He would gently bump it with his feet back then. Now that we're intricately in synch, I knew that he would thoroughly enjoy playing with Buddy as I rode along with him. I was right! He was in heaven as he frolicked about chasing Buddy as he made me giggle and laugh. The more I laughed, the more animated he would dance about playing with Buddy. It was magical! I can't even begin to express how thankful I am to God for gifting me with such a magnificent, love bug of a stallion. I love him beyond measure! Dante is the most astounding boy; he's stunning inside and out. His illuminating essence is divinely appointed to bring about His love and light upon the earth. Guardian Angels, and a Lesson Learned. Carol & Dante the King 2024-12-07 | Hi, friends! I wanted to share a humbling and miraculous experience I had the other day with my beloved Dante the King. As many of you know, I always start my days and rides with a prayer, asking Heavenly Father for angels to watch over me, my family, and our cherished fur babies. I’ve seen the power of prayer and protection in countless moments, and this was another one of those times.Monday morning, I made a mistake that reminded me of the importance of mindfulness and respect when working with horses, especially a new companion. After feeding Dante and Ziggy their hay and their favorite mash, I went to get some ointment for a small sore on Dante’s leg.He was completely focused on his delicious mash as he was eating up next to his stall wall between his full hay bag and water trough. When I re-entered his stall, I forgot to call out or touch him to let him know I was there—a habit I usually follow. He couldn’t see me and was solely focused on eating.Without thinking, I applied the ointment directly to his leg. Startled, Dante instinctively cow kicked me as I was bent over, focused on his hock. His powerful leg threw me off my feet, and I hit the side of his stall wall before landing on my knees as my head landed on the floor of his stall. It all happened so swiftly—I didn’t even see his leg move.As I gathered myself, Dante swung around with a shocked and apologetic look in his eyes, as if he instantly realized it was me. I quickly regained control of the situation, moving his feet to reinforce that cow-kicking is unacceptable. Once we settled back down, I invited him into his stall to finish breakfast. He walked in softly, with his head low, showing he understood and wouldn’t do it again.Thankfully, I walked away completely unharmed. His leg hit the side of my face—it was truly a miracle, considering his intense power. I know without a doubt that heavenly angels were protecting me at that moment; I’m grateful for their constant presence. I feel them with me and my family daily.This experience reminded me of 3 very important barn rules :1️⃣. Always communicate your approach to your horse, especially when their attention is elsewhere.2️⃣. Continue to do groundwork training to build trust, confidence, and excellent manners—Dante and I will be doing plenty of groundwork and leg desensitization in the coming months.3️⃣. To only apply wond ointment and mess with their legs while they are standing on the grooming mats.Dante has come so far since he first arrived; I knew he had a knee-jerk reaction to cow kick, he kicked out once before. He wasn’t taught not do react that way. Our mishap happened because I made the mistake by not ensuring he knew that I was approaching him when he was eating and I failed to continue doing desensitizing training. I guarantee I won’t make that mistake again!I had a similar experience with my heavenly boy, Cor, when he first came to me; he cow kicked my thigh. Training him correctly made all the difference—he never did again.I have been doing groundwork training each night with Dante. I took this video of him last night; I use various items around his legs to desensitize him; he hasn’t moved at all when doing so. He even went over the trot poles on his own, which he wouldn’t do so before. I’m so proud of him!I’m thankful for the power of prayer, and for the protection I received. It was a blessing that I walked away as of it didn’t happen at all. I’m grateful the Lord is in the details of all of our lives. Every day is an opportunity to grow spiritually, learn wisdom, and deepen the connection with the Him and our majestic four-legged companions.We appreciate each one of you. Dante the King Learning to Ground Tie—without a Halter! 😄 Carol & Dante the King 2024-12-06 | I had a magical evening with my majestic Dante the King. I did something new for us: I practiced walking him out of his stall without a halter—to have hom ground toe wohout a halter. He did awesome! I simply invited him to follow me onto the grooming mat, he did so perfectly. He did amazingly well— he was completely attuned to me, as always. I cherish how in tune we are with one another. We had a delightful time; Dante loved it! I also let him walk around the breezeway and smell everything he was interested in. It’s important for horses to do that, especially stallions. They have excellent sense of smell, similar to Bloodhound dogs.The spiritual connection Dante and I share is beyond words. Our spirits feel as one, and he is truly an angel in my life. Dante has healed my heart and soul in ways I never thought possible. I’m thankful for my magnificent Dante. The Lord and Cor definitely knew what my heart needed to heal fully, afger Cor’s loss. I have them play and interact daily; they thoroughly enjoy hanging out and playing together. Watching them romp and chase each other brings so much happiness to my heart.They play hard, it can get a little wild sometimes—I had to keep a close eye on them as I mucked their stalls to make sure they didn't get hurt! You know what they say, “boys will be boys.” 😅I cherish that they are the best of friends; seeing them so happy together is a gift from above that I’ll never take for granted. Our Adorable Barn Bunny ♥️🐰 Carol & Dante the King 2024-11-30 | Oue New Little friend, Lucky! ♥️🐰Sweet little Lucky, our adorable bunny friend, is doing great. He is happy and content in his newly established habitat that he selected in my neighbor's vacant rental property backyard. I'm pleased to say that Lucky is warming up to me more each day! I'm tickled pink that he is! I love to see him hopping around our property. Lately, he’s been hopping closer around me when I'm mucking stalls. It’s such a joy to see his trust and confidence grow! This afternoon when I was doing my barn chores, I saw him sitting near Page's run watching me out of the corner of his eye. So, I approached him slowly to see what he would do. I was pleased that he didn't hop away quickly as he usually does. He let me almost pet him and even stretched slowly next to me—he's adorable! I'm taking it all at his pace, honoring his wishes and what he feels comfortable with. His playful personality is starting to shine. He’ll wiggle his nose at me to let me know that he recognizes my company. He is the cutest little bunny! I pray he'll move into the bunny hut we have for him. I put it in Page's stall; it's all set up with shavings and bunny food. He uses Page's stall run for his litter box, so hopefully he'll become confident in claiming our barn as his new home. I have his little bunny hut in Page's stall all prepared. Moments like these remind me how love, patience, and kindness can lead to the most heartwarming connections. Our Elderly Mare, Pagey Girl! 💜 Carol & Dante the King 2024-11-28 | When I visited Page the other day, she was filled with happiness in her new retirement home. She let me know how pleased she is by displaying her grandeur for me as she cantered around the pasture. Watching her canter and gallop so freely brought tears to my eyes and joy to my soul. It reminded me of her younger days, when her greatest delight was galloping with me on her back. Seeing her galloping again was nothing short of magical.I can hardly wait to see Dante and Ziggy running around in their pastures there too. I’ll take them to graze once Page and her barn buddy, Soda, are able to be together in the pasture full-time (we’re getting close). An Amazing Evening with Dante! ♥️ Carol & Dante the King 2024-11-25 | Last night was nothing short of magical with my beloved Dante the King. After returning from visiting our sweet Pagey Girl, I went out to play in the arena with my gorgeous boy. I took him out through his run gate into the arena. He trotted eagerly alongside me, with his soulful eye on me, full of joy and energy. He relishes our time together as much as I do.We played with his Buddy ball, did some liberty training, and did a bit of free lunging. As always, he stayed close by me, never straying far. As I soaked up the glory of his regal gait as he danced around me, my heart was full of gratitude for all that he is. He is such a magnificent, loyal soul. His spirit shines brightly—for the world to see and feel. He’s truly heaven-sent.After I cooled him down, I tried something new: I walked him back to the barn without a halter or lead rope, letting him walk alongside me freely. Our bond is profound; I had complete trust in him. I knew he would follow my every move as we walked calmly into the barn.I communicated with him through my energy and thoughts, reassuring him every step of the way. At first, he seemed a bit puzzled, but as soon as I let him know I allowed him to come with me without his halter, his eyes softened with wonder.As I unlatched the paddock gate and swung them wide open before us, he had his head lowered to mine to verify he was indeed okay to walk out with me. I stroked his regal neck to reassure him that he could indeed walk out with me.As we strolled calmly into our barn, he was very pleased. He was perfectly in tune with my movements, his head lowered in a gesture of respect. It was a paramount moment of pure love, connection, and trust.When we reached the grooming mats, he turned and stood still. I confirmed that he was to stand ground tied, so he did. It was remarkable—his intelligence and intuition never fail to astonish me. He stood perfectly as I groomed him and applied conditioner to his hooves. He looked at me with a gaze full of love. He was as pleased with himself as I was. It was such a tender moment in time. It was a night to remember, that’s for sure!I love how Dante appreciates the depth of our love and everlasting bond that was literally orchestrated by the Lord—even more than I can fully comprehend. He is highly gifted in his ability to spiritually communicate with me and I with him. His ethereal presence is inspiring and healing and filled with heavenly love and light. Did you know that horses can literally read and understand our thoughts, feelings, and emotions? They are extraordinary teachers and mentors, if we are open to receiving what they are trying to teach us.I’m often asked how I bond profoundly with our horses; it’s because I connect with them on a spiritual plane; I communicate with them with my energy and with lots of TLC. I also step into my power each time I’m with them.When I am living my truth, they do the same; it’s then that their spirits awaken fully; it’s then that we can bond deeply. It’s magical to see their higher-self come shining brightly. You can always tell the level of love, happiness, and spirituality of a horse by how their humans treat them.Dante is spiritually extraordinarily gifted. He is such a majestic stallion with a brilliant mind, a gentle heart, and a spiritual presence that takes my breath away. Best Barn Buddies 🐴 Carol & Dante the King 2024-11-24 | I hope you’re all having a truly happy weekend! Today was such a special day spent with our beloved fur babies. All of our precious four-legged family members are thriving, and it fills my heart with joy to see them so happy and healthy.Dante the King and Ziggy Man had an absolute blast playing over the fence together! I love how well they get along. Both have brotherly love and respect for one another. It’s beautiful to see firsthand. My adorable Dante kept coming over to me for my praise for a job well-done. And to ensure I was still by his side. He’s such a love! I adore his puppy-like personality. Watching their youthful connection and playful spirits made me a proud momma—they’re such incredible boys! (They are both 9 years old.)➡️ I’m often asked why Dante and Ziggy can’t share the same turnout, and I understand the curiosity…➡️ The simple reason is that Dante is a stallion; allowing them to be together in the turnout could lead to some very unwise—and potentially unsafe—situations.➡️ Stallions, by nature, can be territorial and assertive, especially around other horses. And Ziggy can be a pest to other horses. ➡️ Safety is always first in our barn. It is essential to manage their interactions responsibly. That’s why I let them play over the fence (with my supervision). This way they can safely enjoy each other’s company. ➡️ It’s all about finding the right balance for our fur babies well-being while maintaining a safe and happy home for them. Later, I headed down to see our precious Pagey Girl and meet up with Erika, Trevor , and sweet little Bubba. Page is absolutely glowing with happiness in her second home. She kicks up her heels when we let her out of her stall to graze. We love that she’s thriving there. Seeing her cheerful and content warms my heart beyond words. I’ll be sharing some videos of her out in the pasture soon—she’s such a joy to watch. Friesian cousins ♥️ Carol & Dante the King 2024-11-10 | It warms our hearts to see Dante the King and Ziggy as such close friends. Not all horses get along so well; it’s truly a blessing they do. I love that they are cousins (Ziggy is half-Friesian). #dantetheking #blessed #friesianstallion #grateful #horse #friesianhorse #horses #ysbrand #barnlife #blackstallion They get along so well because of the training I do with them, along with the love, peacefulness, and happiness that fill our barn. Horses are always mirrors of their environment and their connection with their person(s). When introducing our new horses to our other horses, I do so slowly. I let them smell each other as I walk them in and out of our barn. I also do groundwork training to establish me as their alpha leader and momma. This not only helps horses to have excellent ground manners, it also increases their confidence and helps them to be more relaxed and peaceful. All of which builds a solid foundation for horses to build a beautiful foundation when getting to know each other. Especially when dealing with stallions, they can be very overbearing and dominate when not trained correctly. Dante arrived very stressed and high-strung. After several months of training and bonding deeply with him, I allowed Dante and Ziggy to play together over the panels; they did amazing together. Their relaxed, playful demeanor is evidence of how happy and comfortable they are; they know they are family. It's absolutely heartwarming to see them together blissfully enjoying each other. My Friesian stallion playing with us mega ball! ⚽️ Carol & Dante the King 2024-10-31 | I had such a wonderful time with my family. Erika and little Bubba came over; we had a delightful afternoon together. After, I spent much of the evening with my precious Dante the King. Oh my goodness, he sure makes me happy! Our blessed world together is a little bit of paradise.His playful side is shining more so each day. I’m loving how much he’s stepped into his magnificence joyfully. I absolutely adore hanging out with him and pushing his ball Buddy around with him. He loves it too! He had a good old time throwing Buddy up in the air. He was very pleased with himself as he would trot back to be with me; he made me laugh when he did. I'm incredibly grateful for him in my life. He fills my heart with joy! A Day to Remember. ♥️ Carol & Dante the King 2024-10-29 | Happy Monday!The other day, I had quite a unique experience with my majestic, Dante the King, that is unforgettable. After I saddled him up, I put his double rein bridle on. As we were walking to our arena, I stopped at the table in our breezeway to pick up my dressage whip and some treats for him. As I did, I mistakenly let go of one of his reins. As we turned to walk out of our barn, I realized that I only had one of the reins in my hand. I quickly turned to Dante to reach for it; just as I did, Dante stepped on it! In response to feeling pressure on his bridle and feeling my “oh, no!” energy as I was walking swiftly towards him, he instinctively raised his head up, which broke the cheekpiece small leather straps, which broke off the reins! I was stunned at myself that I did it again. As I stood holding the broken set of reins in my hand, Dante lowered his beautiful head and looked at me with loving concern. He then turned and walked back to his grooming spot (where I ground tie him), turned, and stood quietly with his head lowered as he waited for me. I was in utter amazement at his mannerism and taking it upon himself to stand in place where he knew I would need to put a new bridle on him. How incredibly amazing is that?! I was in awe of his innate instinct to care for himself to help support me. After he walked off and stood on the grooming mats, I took a photo of me holding the reins as he stood patiently waiting for me (I included it in my video). As I walked up to him to switch up his bridle, he lowered his head for me to do so. After I finished putting it on, he looked into my eyes to check to see if I was okay. He could sense my frazzled feelings and wanted to see that all was well with me. How precious is that?! Dante then gave me a hug; as he did, I hugged him back and thanked him for being such a wonderful equine soulmate and companion. I know he understood what I was expressing, as our spiritual connection depended. We then headed out to the arena and had a delightful ride, as usual. We seriously have so much fun together! Our magical moment in time was an amazing experience, which I shall always cherish in my heart. I'm thankful to be able to share him with you all. I hope you enjoy watching our video and seeing his affectionate hugs that he gives me. He has the most loving personality; his joyful nature is contagious and soulwarming. He is an absolute treasure! A Day to Remember ♥️ Carol & Dante the King 2024-10-19 | Yesterday was a lot of fun. Erika and her precious family came over to spend the afternoon with my husband and me. We had a wonderful time! My husband and her husband hung out doing guy stuff, while Erika and I played with their little prince. Baby Bubba is growing so fast! He is pure joy! He is loved and adored beyond expression. After they went home in the early evening, I went out to the barn to muck stalls and to free lunge and play with my beloved Dante the King before the sun went down. I didn’t have time to groom him as usual, as our window of sunlight was dimming (the sun sets much earlier now that it’s fall).We had a delightful time together! Dante loves to play and trot along side me as I jog with him. He also enjoys chasing me, too, as I jog in front of him and around him. I ended our playtime by sitting on the mounting block with him, expressing my love and appreciation to him. He in turn let me know how happy he is as he conveyed his gratitude with his soulful eyes as he gently kissed my hands. Dante is always a complete gentleman. He has a heart of gold and always strives to make me smile and laugh. He’s such a joy to be with! It’s times like these that strengthen our spiritual bond. As he interacts with me blissfully, his glorious countenance radiates his magnificent brilliance. My heart was overflowing with happiness and love. 5 Beautiful Months Together 🙏 Carol & Dante the King 2024-10-17 | My heart is full of gratitude this morning for the gift of my forever boy, Dante the King. The past five months with my magnificent stallion have been highly rewarding and heartwarming. As I reflect on how far we’ve come, I can't help but give thanks to the Lord for His guiding hand in our lives. As well as my angel boy, Cor. I'm thankful that I continue to feel Cor with us in spirit. I also feel Apollo, and now our little Rosa's spirits as well. What a blessing the veil is so thin for our loved ones. Our journey is truly that of heaven’s orchestration. It has been magical in so many ways. Dante's transformation has been remarkable. He arrived home scared, highly anxious, and way too hot to ride, which was the complete opposite of what I was anticipating. Through it all, it was a blessing that we have triumphant over the difficulties that we faced. It wasn't at all easy, but it brought us closer together as we both healed together. To witness Dante's spirit awakening fully has been an honor and a privilege. His radiant energy is infectious; he's an absolute joy to be with. His endearing essence has filled my heart with immense love and happiness. It's been a pleasure sharing him with you all. To feel your love for him is heartfelt on many levels. Horse Training Tips Carol & Dante the King 2024-09-17 | We had a wonderful day... I started the morning off by riding my gorgeous Dante the King. He did awesome! I’m loving how in sync we are now—I’m very proud of him!Then this evening, I rode Ziggy Man, he was fantastic as well. I love riding our two precious boys! I ride him to keep him in shape for Erika while she’s caring for her little one. Ziggy and I had a lot of fun!While I was riding Ziggy, Dante was watching us as he stood in his run. He was adorable! He would randomly play with his ball and then watch us again. It warms my heart to see him happy and content.While I was riding Ziggy, I took a virtual ride along and shared some of my training tips.I train our horses to be happy, relaxed, light and responsive to my aids. Riding a heavy, sluggish horse is not my idea of fun.Here are a few tips on how I keep Dante and Ziggy light and supple:➡️ For warm up and cool down, I have them do long and low. They love stretching their topline as they warm up and cool down.➡️ I also have them do lateral movements by having them touch their nose to my boot on the right and left sides. It helps to keep them flexible and enables them to do lateral movements better. ➡️ To help keep them light to my aids, I do transitions in short increments, such as: walk to trot, trot to canter, canter to trot, canter to walk, and walk to halt, etc.➡️ When they are light and quick to respond to my aids I reward them. I reward them by giving them their heads (by releasing the reins). ➡️ I also praise them and pet their necks. They relish each time I compliment them for a job well done. ➡️ Horses are highly intuitive and understand the feeling of adoration and praise I give them. ➡️ I hold the buckle of the reins so they can stretch down as they please; they always do the long and low happily.➡️ I also praise them, pet them, and let them rest when needed. I also give them a treat now and again, which they love.➡️ I do the same transition exercises on the right and left leads.➡️ I end by doing lateral exercises and going backwards.➡️ I only train for 30 to 45 minutes. I adore how much they enjoy riding together. My soul fills with joy as they express their happiness with their loving nuzzles, hugs, and kisses after our ride. They melt my heart!After our ride, while I was doing my barn chores and feeding our fur babies, my loving husband came out to be with us. I love it when he's in the barn with me. He's my best friend and soulmate. He is my everything! ♥️Matthew held our cute Bentley so he could see me. He then brought him in so he could see Dante up close. I was pleased to see them interacting with one another. Then, sweet Rosa joined us. I cherish my time with our little barn cat, Rosa. She is 19 years old and is starting to really show her age. She and Pagey Girl are very old; I’m thankful every minute we have with them and I’m blessed they are both doing well. I love them both deeply.I absolutely love spending time with our fur babies in our cozy barn; it is full of love, peace, happiness, and serenity. I’m grateful for every day with our beloved four-legged family members; they are such angelic souls. They’re blessings to me and my family. Four months together. 🙏 Carol & Dante the King 2024-09-16 | My beloved Dante the King came home four months ago today; he arrived on May 14th. He’s truly a treasured gift from above. I’m honored to be his forever momma. I love him so much! Here’s a timeline video of our magical journey together thus far...I’m blessed beyond measure that his regal spirit awakened brilliantly. His beautifully endearing personality has blossomed brightly as well. I cherish how much he loves to be together. He’s so happy, content, and joyful! He has a powerful spirit, it’s very healing. I'm grateful the Lord and Cor were instrumental in bringing Dante and I together. I feel their heavenly presence with us constantly. I'm proud of Dante; he has made amazing accomplishments, both on the ground and under saddle.He was one dangerous boy to ride at first. It took a lot of courage and faith on my part to ride him the first little bit. He was a hot mess when he arrived—he was full of anxiousness and nervousness. I’m thankful all the time, patience, and training paid off. He relishes our time together; he's thriving in his forever home. I’m tickled pink with how bright and loving his eyes are now... When he arrived, he wouldn’t even look at me. I absolutely love to ride him. We’re a match made in heaven. We are in spiritual sync with one another now. He often anticipates what I want him to do: he's an intelligent boy! I can hardly wait to see how far we’ll go as a team. We have much to look forward to!
