Taylor Hawkins | Tribute | Toazted Toazted 2022-08-27 | March 25th Taylor Hawkins sadly passed away. Taylor was a phenomenal drummer, singer and songwriter who had a major impact on his main band, the Foo Fighters. Taylor was loved by many. He was funny, friendly, passionate about music. We were fortunate enough to have met and interviewed Taylor a couple of times. In 2007 we talked to Taylor and bass player Nate Mendel about the album "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace". In this interview the viewer can get an idea what Taylor was like. As we want to focus on Taylor in this edit, we cut out the parts with Nate (sorry man). BOEF, Het Debat tijdens ESNS18 Toazted 2018-01-19 | Livestream vanaf ESNS 2018 tijdens het debat "Waar begint of eindigt de maatschappelijke verantwoordelijkheid van een artiest en festivalorganisatie" Het debat wat na aanleiding van de recente uitspraken van rapper "Boef" en zijn optreden tijdens Noorderslag is ingelast.WAAR BEGINT OF EINDIGT DE MAATSCHAPPELIJKE VERANTWOORDELIJKHEID VAN EEN ARTIESTPrincipieel of onder druk van de publieke opinie, uitgeserveerd op sociale media of via columns en rubrieken in dag- en weekbladen, hebben organisaties zich gedistantieerd van de recente uitspraken van de artiest Boef. De populaire rapper had begin dit jaar een drietal dames die hem hielpen toen hij autopech had uitgemaakt voor kechs. Straattaal voor hoer. Een minder gelukkig uitgesproken excuus hielp de zaak niet echt en een publicitaire rel was een feit. Optredens werden gecancelled en een enkele DJ meldde geen tracks van Boef meer te draaien op radio. Anderen twijfelden wat te doen. Opnieuw discussie. Wat moet je als organisatie doen? Wat is goed? Wat slecht? Geef je toe aan de opvatting van een aantal mensen dat zich krachtig uitspreekt voor het cancelen van geboekte optredens. Toon je dan gebrek aan ruggengraat of is het juist een krachtig signaal? Of is dit het zoveelste hoofdstuk in wat een fenomeen van deze nieuwe tijd blijkt: iedereen rekent zelf wel af wat met zij slecht of goed vindt en deelt die mening met de rest van de wereld via social media. Daarover wil de organisatie van Eurosonic Noorderslag, die er voor koos het geplande optreden te niet annuleren maar wel afstand te nemen van de uitspraken van Boef, een inhoudelijk debat over hoe je als directbetrokkene om dient te gaan in deze situatie. Maar ook een debat waarin we de gebeurtenissen willen duiden in de context van de huidige sociaal maatschappelijke ontwikkelingen en wie daarin welke verantwoordelijkheden draagt.
