The things that make the best of children's literature some of the pinnacles of the form are blindingly present in Campbell Whyte's Australian fantasy epic Home Time (from Top Shelf Comics) and Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru's take on WWII-era America in Superman Smashes the Klan (from DC comics). In this video I talk about what makes some all-ages fiction so special, why these two comics establish themselves as some of the finest examples I've read in recent times.
