I feel like this one is going to be a bit controversial. Not only did I do brushwork instead of a fluid art pour like I normally do, but doing the glaze (or 'wash' as I would call it with watercolors) completely changed the tone and feel of this painting. I love the softer, almost sepia tone of the end result, but I'm sure there will be many who would have preferred the crisp, cool monochrome. Which do you like better?
Please don't yell at me if you liked the painting I covered up. If something doesn't sell, it gets recycled.
Oh - and even though curiosity killed the cat... Oscar is alive and well. But maybe a studio kitty isn't the best idea! LOL (get a kitten they said. It'll be fun they said)
My custom pouring medium: 2 parts US Floetrol, 1 part PVA glue (similar to Elmer's Glue All, 1 part gloss varnish.
I dispersed a small amount of TLP Caramel Drizzle dry pigment with GAC800 and a splash of Liquitex Pouring Medium, and then combined it with my custom pouring medium: 12 ounces pm to 1 part mixed TLP. And then I thinned it with water until it left no trace when drizzled off of the stir stick. This mix is very transparent because it is over-dispersed.
I also used Chromacryl White and Black acrylic paint for the brushwork.

I 'rescue' any paint that gets spun or tilted off by scraping it off of the table, straining it and saving it to use as a base coat for future pours. Very little waste!
