After filling my 1st tag on the prior morning, I had one turkey tag left to fill for the state. I'd heard distant gobbles when I was set up the morning before, so I headed out to roost with those in mind. As it turns out, I roosted two toms very near to where my wife killed a turkey the year prior. This turkey hunt takes place on public land in a bigger woods area of Wisconsin last spring. The bird populations aren't crazy, but they're good enough and the hunting pressure is spread around more than smaller parcels.
