This happens to about 10% of all dads.
TEN PERCENT!
The main symptom for me was anger and irritability. I was mad one moment and then crying another.
Others might lose interest in the things they used to enjoy, throw themselves into their work, feel distant from others, become cynical, or hopeless.
It was likely caused by a mixture of hormonal changes, lack of sleep, becoming the lead parent for my 5 year old daughter, and not being involved in feeding my son.
Getting help from friends and family with food, laundry, and cleaning helped me get more sleep which started to turn things around. But the biggest change happened when I could start feeding my son with a bottle. It was like a switch went off and I FINALLY felt connected to him.
