I show how to collect the star Scale the Mountain in TTM using 0 A presses using the fly guy. Specifically, I use fly guy manipulation to move the fly guy to the top of the mountain, and then use a twirl to reach the star. This is a followup to my previous attempt at doing this from 3 years ago (youtu.be/2vDPHhyELb4), only this time I was successful.
This is yet another alternative strat for Scale the Mountain 0x, and the second one that doesn't modify the HOLP. The other method is to move a goomba to the star (youtu.be/88X9Q0Cud4A). At this point, it's not clear which of these 2 methods is faster when done optimally, and so it's unclear which of these would be done in the ABC route.

I collect the star Timed Jumps on Moving Bars in TTC using 1 A press. This is TAS. This improvement reduces the total A press count for collecting 120 stars from 24 to 23.
This video is an improvement from the previous video, in which this was done using 2 A presses (https://youtu.be/PMh2RGh_bMc). Since then, we found a way to achieve the cog misalignment, an idea that was proposed years ago (https://youtu.be/27F2cz3PYvQ) but not achieved in practice until recently (https://youtu.be/0zxKTxhEhi8). This is because it didnt save an A press until we found the hyper speed grinding method of getting past the pole 1x (https://youtu.be/gxZiW7EKLzA). This freed up the bob-omb to be used elsewhere, namely to clip into the moving bars cage, a strat that had been known for years (https://youtu.be/fgmr2wNvVFM). Thus, the combination of the hyper speed grinding, the cog misalignment, and the bob-omb clip into the moving bars cage reduced this star from 2x to 1x.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s going on in the video: First, I go to BitS and set the HOLP. Then I go to TTC. In there, I perform pause buffered hitstun to remotely throw a bob-omb at the HOLP from BitS, which is way up high. Then, I clone coins until I have 97 coins. I then release a fire clone on the treadmill (which burns me), and then release a second one there as well (which doesnt burn me, since its hitbox is overshadowed by the first fire clones hitbox). Then I clone one of the coins from the coin block and use it to generate a 100 coin star near the fire clones. Using a fire bounce star dance clip, Im able to get past the treadmill and reach the cogs. Then I use dust to manipulate the cogs so that I get a good configuration of their angles/speeds/accelerations. From there, I perform the cog misalignment. Then I do hyper speed grinding to build up enough speed to reach the next level of the clock. Then I use pendulum manipulation to have the pendulum stick upwards so that Im able to reach the rotating blocks. Once there, the bob-omb that I threw earlier reactivates and falls down to me, and so Im able to use it to clip into the moving bars cage to collect the star.

They used Desmos to plot the cogs vertices and Marios movement in order to route the exact positions/angles/speeds Mario should have in order to reach the cog misalignment (https://www.desmos.com/calculator/zi5mrn0yhr). Furthermore, they provided feedback concerning my cog misalignment attempts so that I could tweak my setup to get the strat to work. Under their guidance, I was able to use my TTC Simulator to calculate a way of manipulating RNG using dust that would produce a suitable cog configuration for achieving the cog misalignment. Additionally, thanks to jongyon for TASing the first half of the cog dust RNG manipulation.
