The wonderful thing is that the ephemera is laid out on the page in such a way that it can be used as journal pages when folded. Vintage Christmas journal for Tsunami Rose Design Team didsomebodysaypaper 2017-11-15 | Here is the journal that I made for my November Tsunami Rose design team project. I used the stunning Christmas List kit. This journal was such a pleasure to make! The kit has beautiful journal pages, but what I really enjoyed was using the ephemera pieces in different ways. I made a library pocket for the library card in the kit and decorated it with more ephemera and stickles. I also made a little booklet and used ephemera to make a closure on a trifold flap and for a tuckspot. I've had this kit for ages and can't imagine why I haven't used it sooner, it is such an enchanting collection of images. It has an irresistible shabby vintage feel and it almost felt as if the journal made itself! The kit is huge and can be used in so many different ways. As usual, my style is relatively clean and it is a great "counterpoint" to the fragments on the kit pages. The designs also blended really well with some tea dying and some distress inking around the edges. I chose to work with the plain hummingbirds printables in this junk journal.The images are beautiful, so I fussy cut a few of them and used them on the cover and randomly in the journal - I love the effect they create!I also reduced the size of the Things to do pages and trimmed them to embellish plain shipping tags.I tea dyed all the pages with rooibos/red tea and inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. I love the grungy effect this created and how well Daisy's designs go with this look. The hummingbird images are so cheerful that I think this would make a really pretty gratitude journal.I am giving this journal as well as two vouchers for the Tsunami Rose Etsy shop away on my Instagram account.
