For spellcards named Overdrive, some of them certainly aren't that difficult, so it definitely isn't last word level type difficulty, sadly. Also, why can't Kogasa and Nue have any Overdrive spellcards?
A timeout of the last word from Sariels Shikieiki script from the ICM contest at MoTK. Why? Because I really love this spellcard type. The script is also pretty cool overall, even if it seems to break replays somewhat (?).

Apparently this is version 1.02, so it's a really short game with random routes that can go however you want them to, but they're essentially divided into upper, middle and lower routes.
This is the lower route of the game, which you go through by getting maximum points. It's probably meant to be the hardest route of them go with, but it's a shame that the boss itself is a joke.

Stage 1 and 2 are perfected (unless you count not using any shield as perfect), but stage 3 went really really bad. Samidare is not part of the Seihou Project, but is instead part of a series called Project Blank and it's the first game of the project. It also contains some Seihou and Touhou references here and there.
The music is pretty good too, if that counts for anything. The game also got an extra stage, which is pretty difficult.

Most often these are either the most difficult or most interesting of each characters spellcards, so I would say that this is when the game really gets fun.

The fight was fun like last time even if the two final spellcards kind of... ruined the experience. Since I don't know any japanese I don't have any idea at all of what's going on here, but I'm probably not missing much. Well, atleast the last spell is better than the last spell Kogasa had.

This is uploaded for entertainment purposes only.[Inatsuka Haru] ~ Beat Kogasa!Patrick L.2014-01-05 | A showcase of the short touhou fangame "Beat Kogasa!" made by Inatsuka Haru. This is hard mode, with a pretty fair difficulty balance with the exception of the final spellcard which gets pretty dumb at the end. I can't see myself beating this on lunatic anytime soon, but it would certainly be interesting to see someone do it. Overall a pretty fun battle, even if the patterns overall weren't so original, with Kogasa stealing patterns here and there.
The resolution for the game is a bit strange, so the video is probably even worse in terms of quality than usual, sorry for that.

Extra spellcards are unlockable spellcards of the highest difficulty level which are unlocked by getting a certain amount of points in the normal mode.
Even if it's supposed to be among the highest level spellcards, Patchouli's is the only one which is really challenging. Ran's is way too easy and Yukari's is just pure memorization. Yukari's is still tricky, so it's atleast way more difficult than Ran's spellcard.

Well, they are as close to final bosses as the fangame SCC can get. They both have some of the most difficult spellcards in the whole game, but sadly they have no unlockable last word-type spellcard.
I actually hope that the creator would add unlockable spellcards to Mima and Shinki in a newer version, or just extra spellcards. Even if it was very challenging, I would like to see something more, especially because every other character in the game had unlockables.

The difficulty gets higher from spellcard to spellcard, so Alice has what is probably the second easiest extra spellcard (next to Ran's, which I may include sometime if I feel like it) and Koishi's being the most difficult one in this video. While Sakuya's seems extremely scary at first, it's really only a lot of memorization. It's still pretty challenging though.
This may also be called "part 1" of the my extra playthrough. Not sure if I will get any further though since the rest of the extra spellcards seems alot more difficult than these ones.

Because of this, I usually call this theme the "last word theme", especially because the final two bosses of normal mode doesn't even have any "last word".
Oh my, isn't this theme just grand and awesome. I would totally use this theme in a script if I got the chance~

Made by Shijimi Nono, one of the best danmakufu scripters there is, to me. Nono and Len (the creator of Phantasmagoria Trues) really excel at making inspiring, amazing danmaku patterns.
Probably the best spellcard collection made so far. Of course it's just my opinion, but if you just take the time to look at it, there's a large amount of spellcards of varying difficulties, with amazing visuals and a lovely soundtrack.

The theme for the three ultimate beings of Gensokyo, (or not, more like the barely known midbosses. But who knows? :P) Daiyousei, Koakuma and Lily Black. Also known as "wow, this theme is really long" and "the epic theme for the duel of fate".
If you're not a danmaku god, chances are that you will be hearing this theme alot trying to survive the three brutal EX-spellcards and if it isn't apparent, this theme has really grown on me. Best theme in the whole soundtrack, maybe?

This appears to be the first released spellcard collection by Len and if you have played some of his later scripts, you will see how some of these spellcards inspired those in his later scripts.
There's also a little bonus at the end, which is like a preview of the first of the three extra-level spellcards in the collection, which are unlocked by capturing all the normal spellcards first. The reason I added that part is basically because: 1. It is Daiyousei. If that's not enough, it is Len's Daiyousei, which is like one of the best touhous. 2. It is probably my favorite spellcard in the whole collection. That gimmick. (The other two extras are less fun and more insane patterns.)

Touhou and all of its characters belongs to ZUN himself.Phantasmagoria Trues Advanced Route 1cc.Patrick L.2013-08-27 | A 1cc of the Advanced Route of Phantasmagoria Trues using ReimuA of danmakufu v0.12m. Phantasmagoria Trues is in my opinion one of the best touhou fangames existing, bullet hell type. It is pretty much an improved version of the older one, Phantasm Romance. There are two other modes + one "extra stage" called Terminus other than Advanced Route in this game, each with different bosses.
The game, like most touhou games, got 6 stages or areas. In Phantasmagoria Trues at area 4, you have to choose to go to 4a or 4b. In this run I chose 4b, as I always do since I find Youmu's battles pretty boring and the 4b battles to be some of the best boss fights in the game. Yes, Youmu is in 4a both at the Standard and Advanced routes.
Note that this is the newest version of PT, version 1.2. In the latest video I think it was version 1 I was playing. The differences can be seen in the life counters of the bosses, some of the patterns being different as well as the new aura effect.Touhou 14 - Double Dealing Character Extra Stage.Patrick L.2013-08-24 | A replay of me clearing the extra stage of the recently released touhou 14, double dealing character and its ex-boss Raiko. As expected, homing Reimu became my favorite shottype of the game and ReimuA isn't that bad either in this game. Raiko is an interesting character who gives me some Yumemi/Chiyuri vibes on her outfit. Her theme is decent and the fight is quite fun, with the exception of her third spellcard which is pretty stupid in my opinion. First I thought she was incredibly hard for an extra boss, but then after a few tries it became alot easier. This run went well, but it's actually my third clear of the extra. The resources gained in the stage is a handful too, so even if you mess up it's not too hard to survive until the end. I tried my best to abuse the damage potential of ReimuA, but I'm not so sure of the best way to go, so I didn't really get to use it that much. It is mostly noticeable in the stage part, where the "boomerang-gohei" tactic works really well.
The touhou series and all of its contents like characters, bgm and graphics belongs to ZUN.Danmakufu - Yuuka Kazami (Extra) Boss.Patrick L.2013-08-23 | I just felt like doing a Ph3 script, that's all. Anyone who sees this would instantly notice that I'm, after all, pretty damn bad at balancing difficulties correctly. Just look at those spellcards right here, there's a few of them I'm not really proud of (Mainly "grasping thicket" and "infinite blooming"). There's some references among the spellcards too, which may make it more or less enjoyable for those who know about them. For example: - "Moonlight Illusion" is a smaller reference to JynX lotus land story remake. It just is similair to one of Yuuka's spellcards in there, that's all. - "Floral Gensokyo" is almost too similair to Yuuka's attacks in Seihou Kioh Gyoku. - "Dream Essence" also contains parts similair to Yuuka's attacks in Seihou Kioh Gyoku. - Yuuka's blue ball form is of course a reference to her energy form in LLS.
Kind of dumb how the last spellcard is captured while the bullets are still on the screen. Considering how short Yuuka's death animation is, I should probably have made it so the bullets got deleted instantly at the start of the death animation.

The Seihou Project is what is usually called the "sister of Touhou". It is made by the same team as ZUN was in during the pc98 era of touhou and zun even helped with the production of Seihou 1 and 2 (I'm not so sure about Seihou 3). It was mostly with the music, but some of the art is known to be drawn by him aswell. The gameplay of the Seihou games is kind of like touhou, but more like the type of less-but-faster bullets. An interesting treat for touhou fans is the touhou characters appearing in seihou 1 and 2 as cameos. This game plays like the phantasmagoria games of the touhou series and it is fun, but short. Unlike the phantasmagorias, graze is used here to charge the special meter. Sadly it doesn't have that many working modes, there's only one difficulty setting and replays can't be saved either.
The character used here is Yuuka Kazami and for anyone who knows of the touhou series, this would be the cameo from touhou for this game. Yuuka is decently slow, with a powerful and wide level 1 shot which gives her the opportunity of charging her power meter really fast, which helps considering that she has one of the weaker early phases in the games. My strategy with her is simply charge up for the level 4 as fast as possible and then just spam level 2 attacks to charge up the power level. The character used here, Muse, is one of my favorite characters to use as well as play against (until boss Muse reaches the top levels, then it becomes a nightmare). She is powerful and AI-destroying, so she's also among the easier ones to use for clearing the game. I made the mistake of using the level 3 attack alot here, which may be good against other players, but against the AI, Muses level 2 and level 4 attacks are way superior, mainly for the cross spam. Story-wise, Muse is a puppet master, cross thrower, vampire, alchemist magician who is part of an organisation to merge magic with science. (Sounds familiar to any touhou character?)

I don't know what to say. I don't really like this extra to be honest. The stage part is okay, but not my favorite among extras. I kind of like Koishi as a character and her theme; "Hartmanns Youkai Girl" is probably one of my favorite boss themes in the series. Her nonspells weren't bad, but her spellcards, while very interesting, became a bit meh after a while. Sure, this is probably just because I am so bad at all of them, but it felt incredibly memory-based and sometimes I'm not even sure what makes them hard or easy. Then at her Instinct and Suppression spellcards, I can't really understand the way they spin around. ZUN really did give her the feeling of being in a sort of emotional chaos with the patterns (and her theme ofc) but it just became more strange after a while. Not to say that there were patterns I liked, like her survival card and last card which were pretty enjoyable. (The biggest reason I started to dislike it is probably because I had to retry it so many times :3)

The difficulty has increased, but not to anything troubling yet (but I have to say that scene 4-5 took a lot of tries for me to clear). Characters included in these stages are Reisen, Tewi, Medicine, Keine and Alice (yay for Alice). I still dislike that some interesting characters don't get to show off here, like Mystia/The Prismriver sisters/Youkai Moe.

Once again for 0.12m, but I tried to make my best with what I had. A result of a touhou fan who really likes pc-98. A full extra stage, where the player goes to Makai to search for a specific object. Bad storywriting and art skills (c) me (haha). Contains two versions, one with less and one with more effects. The one recorded here is the one with more effects, which was not the best choice, seeing how Fraps can't handle alot of stuff on my computer, but I still wanted it to be shown in this video (tl;dr, enjoy the lag). Also contains a graphic and sound effect modification folder for danmakufu 0.12m. Uses my favorite arranges I have found for what I think are really catchy pc98 themes which also fits the theme of the script. Phantasmagoria Trues is in my opinion one of the best touhou fangames existing, bullet hell type. It is pretty much an improved version of the older one, Phantasm Romance. There are two other modes + one "extra stage" called Terminus other than Standard Route in this game, each with different bosses. Standard Route is the mode which plays most like an original touhou game. All the other modes got more difficult attacks overall, but also gets new mechanics like hypershields.
The game, like most touhou games, got 6 stages or areas. In Phantasmagoria Trues at area 4, you have to choose to go to 4a or 4b. In the first run I choose 4b (which is the most fun one :p) but I will also show at the end of the video of route 4a looks like. I've also found out that there exists a number of Unseen Areas that can be unlocked by doing specific requirements and I have to see if I can get to that later.Original Danmakufu v0.12m Player Skins.Patrick L.2013-04-13 | Remodel of the ugly original Danmakufu v0.12m player graphics. Instruction: Take the folder named "img" and insert it in the same directory as your danmakufu exe-file. After this, your all-white player graphics should now look more acceptable to use!Touhou Danmakufu - Yuuka Boss Battle PC-98 style by Matteo.Patrick L.2013-03-27 | A Yuuka boss fight in pc-98 style (for the most part) made by Matteo in MoTK. Pretty cool, but had some obvious flaws such as: 1. Invisible/Invincible Yuuka collides with you. 2. Some patterns seemed really static. 3. Music didn't load for some reason.
Because of number 3, I put in my own bgm in the video. This isn't really the original soundtrack of the script. The original bgm was the original faint dream from LLS. This soundtrack is the remastered version of Faint Dream.
I always love when people praise the pc-98 games :) I don't own anything in this video, neither the script or the soundtrack.

She is a trickster, which can be seen in some of her attacks (mostly the nonspells). Ten Desires is one of the easiest touhou games, but the extra boss is still a challenge. Well, with the trance mode making it easier as well as the extra stage (before the boss) being really easy it makes it all less difficult to attempt. She has quite interesting danmaku, especially with her own danmakufamiliars, the creature-figures. Mostly, her spells and nonspells are easy but with some of her nonspells being tricky and a small part of her spells being a pain. A bit annoying in another way is her Reimu transformation spellcard, mostly because it is really hard to capture, atleast with the strategy I use here. Mamizou is an interesting character and a trickster who in the last dialogue kind of gives some foreshadowing for a water themed game (like Marine Benefit?). It's really vague, but noone knows what ZUN's planning, right?
The touhou series and all of its contents like characters, bgm and graphics belongs to ZUN.Touhou 10 - Mountain of Faith Extra Stage.Patrick L.2013-03-18 | Another replay of an extra boss, this time against Suwako Moriya. I would say she is one of the easiest extra bosses, together with maybe Mokou. A big reason for this is probably because both her extra stage and her nonspells are really lame. She still got some brutal spellcards, but maybe I just find it harder because I can't do those spellcards which traps you very well. She really got alot of those kind of spellcards, which is highly annoying (especially the seven stones and seven trees, damn those bullet hitboxes.). Combine this with the large amount of bombs gained in MoF and it becomes even easier. As usual I'm using homing Reimu and it makes me glad to see that homing Reimu shottype isn't punished in this extra as in a few others, like in PCB and EoSD.
