Including enamel paints in your painting is the easiest step for much more grimdark-looking miniatures than with just acrylics. They dry much slower, you get to control how much is applied, what finish they dry in, and how they blend with one another, creating super easy transitions.
It's a different approach to painting with the reductive technique; instead of layering from bottom to top, we are sort of going from top to bottom, revealing what is underneath.
