Challenging your muscular work capacity (CYMWC) may look like pushing close to failure in an effort to build muscle, but it’s not quite the same thing.

🏋️ Pushing to failure means you can no longer perform the exercise. This can be due to reasons other than just neuromuscular fatigue, like cardio, endurnace, technique, stability, mental and even emotional limitations.

💪 CYMWC means you push the actual muscle tissue toward the contractile limitations so the muscle is no longer able to produce as much force.

In other words, you’re pushing the limits of your actual muscles rather than general physical limits. That way CYMWC will be more direct and applicable for creating a stimulus for hypertrophy and building muscle.
