Jake Daniels - God // Animation Meme/AMV Riko Sakari 2023-09-15 | ⟐ Please read the desc for the story and know more about the making of this animation! ⟐Oh hey, it's such a miracle that I finish this????? There a lot of time I feel like I couldn't finish it and just drop it. But I guess my will power is something⟐ The ORIGIN ⟐-The lore of how I made this lore was when I was still at school sometimes around September 2018 and some of my classmate playing some epic music and it inspired me to imagine some fighting scene with a few cool characters. I didn't imagined how they would look like but eventually in Inktober 2019 I tried to draw the other 3 characters as an Inktober prompt (the basilisk, the hare and the boar) I haven't think about it since until this contest appears, in which the song makes me remembered this story existed. So I was like "hey what a opportunity to animate what my teenager self used to wish that they would do something about this story someday" ⟐ The LORE ⟐- Now the actual lore of this AMV, it's not that complicated because it was made with simple minded child brain of me- The 4 characters in the AMV are the 4 demigods: Hy (the cat-Asian dragon hybrid), Te (the water dragon-basilisk hybrid), Na (the hare-hyena hybrid), Bo (the boar-armadillo hybrid)- They all came to the sacred peak of Judgement like the prophecy has been told (The huge stone carving on the top of the stairs) to challenge the current God (the owl in the stone carving) so they could become the next god. But before challenging the God, they have to win the fight with the other 3 demigods (challengers) as well.- All the cracks and torn bricks on the way to the peak were made by the previous battles from previous demigods, it's kinda a battle arena xD In short the demigods just fighting and the winner will become the next god, until the next demigod challenging them and the cycle will repeat ⟐ The TRAGEDY during the making of this AMV ⟐- I kind of render this the 3rd time and it still have so many mistakes like wahhh 😔This was made during my thesis period so time is super tight to balance between thesis film/moving/classes. - Plus kind of not cash money cuz I started 1 week later than the contest was announced, and I took another 5 days to redesign all of them (Old designs kinda stinki 💀). Also another tragedy is that I feel like some scene kinda push my laptop to limit and it has a lot of render error and timing mistakes (especially the final scene with the 3D dragon). I can't just spend another 3 hours to re-render it again due to time and you know, my laptop can commit shut down any time, devastated- But uh hey at least I kinda push through my limit and finish something within 3 weeks. This meme was way more complicated than Darkside (for example the dynamic poses, the extreme backgrounds, the fighting scene, the very complicated character designs, the struggle to manage to introduce 4 character in a 1 minute AMV) It's not the best outcome due to lack of revision and rush storyboard lead to a train wreck coming after but I'm glad I pulled it off 💪Thank you all for checking out the animation, it means a lot to me with all the supports. Tongue Twister || Animation meme Riko Sakari 2023-08-20 | Yo it was my birthday. To be exact it was August 10th xDI really trying to make my version unique because it's my birthday and I kind of missed birthday last year u_u So I want to push myself to finish this animation (even though I can't post it on my exact birthday), I even added a little story at the beginning about it haha xD Just to show you guys how Riko and me interact I guess. Riko is such a light hearted guys just want to have fun meanwhile I always felt guilty about missing the birthday hahaThis is the first time I use really complex tweening as the main part for the animation. Who said tweening is lazy????? It was WAY TOO HARD THAN I THOUGHT😩 It still have a bunch of errors because I was too exhausted to fix it. What an experience xD At least I learn one or two lessons for the futureThe dancing scene somehow took me 6 hours+ to render maybe because I added too much effect in it. I started the storyboard a few weeks prior but I couldn't work on it until the last 2 weeks when Uni semester ended, the lip sync was a pain xD⟐ Story in the video: This was like a semi vent at first, but I just really love the concept of the world building think it could make a really interesting story. Basically they (the human) keep worrying that they're hurt people, but they just don't know that because of the overthinking and worrying, they're hurting themselves without realizing it (both of them are my sona and they are basically the same being) At first Riko just try to comfort them and hiding so they would calm down and be stable, but that last question just make Riko lost it and showed them that the flower already somewhat took over him (in a rather passive aggressive way xD)In short Riko got hurt but they just don't care about themselves enough to realized it until they saw it⟐ The world building + concept overall:That flower field is like a world represent for the mind, so the world will change based on the human emotion (purple and lavender just to make them calm down cuz they don't feel stable)Riko is like their creation and their companion in their mind (in short, Riko is my imaginary friend xD) They grew up together so they understand each other, or at least Riko tried (because I tbh don't understand myself sometimes) Both of them (mostly Riko) will try to keep the world from being crumbled and destroyed just by keeping their mental health stable.The flower just a metaphor for unstable mental health, both of them will grow flowers independently if they feel unstable. The human didn't grow flower in the video because they just didn't know that they're hurting themselves, only on Riko because he aware something wrong is going onAlso just note that some part of Lotus eater meme is kinda related to this mind world, with the noodle dragon and the white Lotus!That's a really long description but I really hope you guys interested in a story with a rather personal orientation to is. Last year is just a emotional ride of emotions to me because there was too much thing gone wrong and I have to sacrifice my mental health just to keep a balance between personal animation and uni works, as well as stay positive with a bunch of thing that just happened. Figure you out || MV Riko Sakari 2022-07-31 | This MV is for my After Effect class project, we were suppose to made an MV completely using After Effect. Frame-by-frame is not really recommended because we had to utilized AE as much as possible, hence why this MV is kind of has a different vibe compared to what I usually do. Neoni - DARKSIDE || Animation Meme/AMV Riko Sakari 2022-05-07 | Woo after 3 week of working non-stop. I've finally finished this woo!I'm not really sure how to put the story together. But it think it's kinda self-explanatory. Basically Riko left the government's borderline programs (and just left the government overall) so ye, basically he join the dark side! Wearing his back hoodie and roaming across the land find the answers (and also his sister) xD I think the concept pf light or dark is kind of depend on how you see the story tbh, there's no absolute right or wrong in here 👀 (To me I felt like Riko was just kinda succ for not controlling of his personal problems and turn it to a big deal haha) That's also why I included the part of the lyric said "there's no hero or villain in this place". I also put a few tini details of lore in each scenes so feel free to tell me if you spot out something!At first I just want to make a really quick and simple project to the contest for fun (hence why it still follow the meme format), but woah, I think I push myself a little off-limits right there. I kinda experimented with this project a bit too much. Like natural movements, advanced lip-sync, dramatic (and really complex) shading, 3d background. Ye it did turn out to be a pain and drained out 90% of my sanity, but the result worth it I guess, I learned a lot during the making of thisSoooo, this is the 2nd time tackle with backgrounds again, and also the first time I try to put a 2D character in it, and also try render it in Eevee instead of Cycles. I'm kind of proud that I did the background from scratch! (except a few props that I used asset) But ye, I'm really proud that my 3d skill getting a little bit better now who knows what I'll make next 👀Despite having a lot of visual mistake because I didn't really have much time to double check and re-render everything again, overall, I'm still pretty proud with this project and I'm happy to share will all of you too!The next couple months will be really busy for me. The Accident || Short animation ( Do you blame yourself - Meme) Riko Sakari 2021-11-14 | Nix knew something that Riko didn't know when the accident (meteorite) happened, what could it be? 👀Some lore: This happens like way way after Ghost/Epoch (probably the same time range with Run boy Run or after) They are on the same side now but Riko didn't know all the event happened during Ghost (Riko only seemed to know someone presence that went after him but doesn't know it was Nix). Until Nix brought up this conversation, that makes Riko realized some connection about Nix present during the run away and the meteorite. What could that be? 👀 Did Nix purposely bring up this conversation to warn Riko about something? (ye probably 👀👀👀👀👀)I could explain better but I don't think i have enough braincells for it. I guess it's up to you guys now, reading your theories makes me hyped a lot xDI just want to create a small character interaction to practice more fluent lip sync and also experiment with some different find of shading/ composition for animation. I swear using color test sample makes stuff so much easier I should do this in the future. I really enjoy doing the lip sync. Bad idea - meme Riko Sakari 2020-11-22 | This is the first time I completely edited with After Effect :D Friendship ended with Vegas lmao. There are still a bunch of mistakes because I'm just considered me a newbie in After EffectSo it's been like almost 2 months since the last time I animate (due to military camp and other factors), as I said I kinda forgot how to animate, plus the motivation just go br so I just couldn't get the hang of working 24/7 like I used to, that's why I decided to make this stress relief animation. BNA MAP - Part 22 Riko Sakari 2020-06-21 | This has finally been done after 2 months :DDDDDDD I'm really happy to have a chance to join Winged's MAP ad honored to be one of the very first person to be chosen in the MAP. I missed doing MAP so, it's been sometimes...This was made since April but then my Huion pen broke :(((( So that gives me a full art block vibe for the whole May, that's why i made Hip meme while waiting for a new pen. After months hearing nothing from the pen, I realized I shouldn't just wait for it any longer and decided to jumped in and continue this, It takes me around 3 weeks (ye after the HIP meme xD) to finally put an end to this. Also it's pretty irony that when I done this , I got the package contain the replacement pen...I somehow like this and hate this. I experimented a lot with 3D on 2D animation programs since this MAP is mainly simple color and silhouettes. It looks weird and also painful to make, but I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to do something I never done before, that also count animating independent overlap objects like hairs, and try to put a 2D character in fake 3D environmentI planned to make the background in Blender but I remember the render pain, so I... animate everything...
