In June 1986, two months after the Chernobyl disaster, ITN's Peter Sissons interviewed Leonid Zamyatin, the Soviet Ambassador to Britain.

The pair discussed the Chernobyl Disaster and the coming Nuclear age.

Zamyatin, speaking in Russian and dubbed by ITN, expresses the importance of nuclear power only being used for energy and not militarily, in the context of US and USSR arms limitation talks.

The Soviet had been in post in London for just five weeks, a topic which is touched upon at the end of the conversation between the pair.
