In this AU The Great Prince - let's call him Corro - Faline and Todd have been best friends since their young years. They met every day, had adventures, celebrated holidays together and Christmas was the first holiday they celebrated, so it was always special for them.
When they were young adults, it became clear that they became a family, and soon they made their new homes near each other, so they could talk any moment.
Corro and Faline were falling in love since their teenage years and Todd was happy for them. Soon there was a wedding, Faline gave birth to Bambi, a future great prince of the forest. Everything was alright before the night of a big hunt, where many animals were chased and shot.
Corro as the forest protector was doing everything he could to help animals escape, but Faline and Bambi were killed that night. Corro found a young deer who were lost, shocked and hurt. - his ear was wounded. It was Ronno. Corro took Ronno home and adopted him.
Later Todd met Vixey and they married.
Now it's been almost a year after the tragedy, and despite everything Todd, Corro, Vixey and Ronno are gathered together, giving each other gifts and telling stories about the past, when Faline and Bambi still were there.
Ronno and Vixey never knew those times, they love to listen to Corro and Todd, to imagine how it would've been to meet Faline and Bambi. Ronno thinks of Bambi as his brother, and Faline as his mom. He was too young to remember much of his biological parents.
Todd and Corro miss Faline and Bambi deeply, they hope they'd be happy to see how they still made it, how they'd like to meet Vixey and Ronno.
It's like Faline and Bambi are still there, and they are, invisibly standing near their living family, celebrating and remembering.
This mep made me think about my grandparents and my grandma, she and her sister were the only grandparents I knew in person, others passed away before I was born, I only told stories about them.
My grandma was a pediatrician, she saved lives of many children. And her sister was a biologist, she wrote scientific works and worked in an university. I know they both were very cool, cooler than I could ever be, and I miss them sometimes, I hope they're happy in the place they are now.
