These sensors are common technology within a wide range of domains, e.g. autonomous driving and robotics. To simplify the training data generation process for the AI of these systems, this add-on enables a largely automated generation of semantically annotated point-cloud data in virtual 3D environments.
Within the add-on, different depth sensors can be loaded from presets, customized sensors can be implemented and different environmental conditions (e. g., influence of rain, dust) can be simulated. The semantically labeled data can be exported to various 2D and 3D formats and are thus optimized for different deep learning applications and visualizations. In addition, semantically labeled images can be exported using the rendering functionalities of Blender.

In addition to research in autonomous car transport, rail transport is also booming. To be sufficiently accurate and usable, these autonomous systems are harnessing state-of-the-art approaches to artificial intelligence and machine learning. However, these require vast amounts of data to achieve the necessary reliability.
Very often, part of the data is simulated by creating complete virtual environments, which are often replicas of real environments and also enable the simulation of critical scenarios that cannot otherwise be realized.
IT4Innovations is involved in a project that aims to create parametric virtual environments of a train track and provide a plausible simulation of train sensors.

In just 50 minutes I will try to show every step of my rigging process from scratch, starting with positioning the bones of a "MetaRig" to generate the control rig, through a little bit of rough weight painting, all the way to having a few basic mouth shapes using both bones and shape keys.
Rigging a (unique) character properly from start to finish would take a bit longer than 50 minutes, so don't expect an amazing result here! The focus here is on showcasing the workflow.

This talk will present the background and current state of this work. After starting with the reasoning for why the current Principled BSDF is not good enough anymore, it will introduce the underlying theory of physically based shading, covering concepts such as microfacet models, dielectric vs. conductive materials, Fresnel terms, layering models, energy conservation and preservation etc.
Based on this, it'll cover the current plans for Cycles' new Principled BSDF - the design goals, the components it consists of, the theory that each of them is based on, and how they all combine and interact with each other, as well as the current status of the project and what remains to be done.

This is achieved through an in-house add-on, which allows graphic designers to manage the display, update, upgrade and downgrade of assets, by changing their level of definition, whether it is at the level of modelling and shading, but also in terms of rigging.
All this is based on the reference, collection and especially instance collection system present in Blender.
