Antolin and Cha 2024-02-12 | Watch a magnificent dragon-themed drone light show at Marina Bay. The 10-minute performance begins at 8 p.m. on February 6, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18.

The story is based on the legend of the dragon gate (longmen), which is claimed to be at the peak of a waterfall flowing from a mythological mountain. Carps that swim upstream and bravely pass through the dragon gate are said to transform into mighty dragons. The light show, which features themes of family, reunions, and endurance, as well as various symbols of success and prosperity, is an auspicious way to begin the Year of the Dragon.

Haw Par Villa | Most Bizarre Tourist Attraction in Singapore | Unique Places in SG

Antolin and Cha 2022-10-13 | Haw Par Villa, which is situated on a hill in Pasir Panjang, was formerly known as Tiger Balm Gardens. The park was lovingly constructed by businessman Aw Boon Haw, a native of Myanmar, for his brother, Aw Boon Par. It was named after the Tiger Balm medical salve, which their father had invented.

The dramatic representations of the Ten Courts of Hell from Chinese folklore are what make Haw Par Villa famous. Many Singaporeans would sarcastically recall how their parents took them there as kids to teach them about the rigid standards of traditional Chinese morality.

The cultural park is home to over 1,000 statues and 150 dioramas, which, in addition to its signature feature, depict fantastical scenarios from classic works of Chinese literature like Journey to the West, Madame White Snake, and the tales of the Eight Immortals.

The 10 Courts of Hell, the park's most recognizable feature, are now a part of Hell's Museum. The latter is a brand-new room that spans 3,800 square meters and gives the brave the chance to dive into other cultures' conceptions of death and the hereafter.

Singapore Night Festival 2022 | Avatar-Like Stairwell, Festival Village, 9M Tall Artwork |First Look

Antolin and Cha 2022-10-03 | We all tend to be drawn to extravagant light shows and attractive displays for some reason. Even better if you add the words "free" and some cool interactive artwork to the mix. The Singapore Night Festival returns with more eye-candy for social media addicts and budding photographers alike.

After a two-year break, the annual celebration is back, and as if earlier iterations, like SNF 2019, weren't big enough, this year's festival grounds extend into Fort Canning Park in addition to the Bras Basah-Bugis precinct. The event takes place last August 19 to August 27, 2022.

The former concrete canal has been de-concretized and naturalized into a magnificent 3 km flowing river with rich banks of wildflowers as part of the PUB's Active, Beautiful, and Clean Waters (ABC) Program. Aside from its distinctive waterways, the park is known for its beautiful flora, Pond Gardens, and River Plains, making it a popular recreational destination for locals.

Picnics and meetings can be held on the open lawns and gently sloping grassy banks on each side of the river while taking in the beauty and tranquility of the waterways. A diverse range of intriguing species can be found in the 62-hectare park.

Join us for a cycle trip through Kallang Park Connector from Toa Payoh New Town to Bishan Ang Mo Kio Park, passing by several sights along the way.

Orchard Road Lights Up 2021 | Christmas In Bloom (4K)

Antolin and Cha 2021-12-15 | Take a stroll down Orchard Road and marvel at the 3.1-kilometer-long Christmas light-up that runs from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura. The show, titled "Christmas in Bloom," includes brilliant fairy lights, towering arches draped with iconic red, white, and gold poinsettias, as well as festive decorations. The big outside AR projection on the sidewall of Mandarin Orchard Singapore, however, has to be the highlight. Every day from 8 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., a 10-minute augmented reality show will be screened. Alternatively, for some interactive fun like AR fireworks, download the smartphone app PopAR.

This holiday season, Ion Orchard transforms into a wonderful Christmas wonderland. Hand-crafted frosted ornaments in champagne gold and red, as well as enchanting fairy lights, will bring the mall to life. We're talking about opulent Christmas feelings! Fendi, VIVA Foundation, Singapore BrickFest, and Chanel have all put on spectacular outdoor exhibits. The Chanel Holiday light artwork, which stands over 18 meters tall, is a multi-sensory experience with interactive aspects. You'll also get a whiff of the N°5 L'eau fragrance if you approach close enough. Keep an eye on the screen for the light animation that takes place every day at 8 p.m., 9 p.m., and 10 p.m.

Antolin and Cha 2021-12-05 | Toa Payoh Town Park, located between the Toa Payoh HDB Hub and the Pan Island Expressway, is a throwback to the 1970s and 1980s. It was formerly known as the Toa Payoh Town Garden when it debuted in 1972. It still serves as a source of nostalgia and green space on the outskirts of the Toa Payoh estate today.

Toa Payoh Town Park, which was built in the 1970s, was a popular wedding destination for couples who wanted to replicate the flair and fashion of the era. The park preserves its charm and beauty, with a huge pavilion, planted pond, rustic-looking gazebos, and facilities such as open-concept restrooms, and is a terrific spot for families to congregate for enjoyment.

Antolin and Cha 2021-10-02 | Set against luscious vegetation, Thomson Nature Park was once the home to a bustling Hainanese village in the 1930s through 1980s with bountiful fruit trees consisting of rambutans, durians, jackfruit and even the occasional avocados providing food sources to the villagers. By the 1960s, the village grew to a harmonious community of 500 multiracial residents from all walks of life. To date, remnants of old wells, toilets and now-defunct street signs remind us of a slice of the past. However, that is not all that remains! A living culture beholds you as we take a peer into the diverse and fascinating uses of plants that can be found right here at Thomson Nature Park!

A Chinese Garden in the Far West Of Singapore | Explore Yunnan Garden @NTUsg | 4K

Antolin and Cha 2021-04-13 | Getting a feel of going overseas can be easy, we found a beautiful garden in the far West and it took us on a trip to China – Yunnan Garden. The scenic park at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is a green space to visit for your next little day out.

Yunnan Garden was rejuvenated recently with plenty to see. It is located just next to the Chinese Heritage Centre, another landmark at NTU. It has boardwalks, a waterfall, and different trails with sprawling greenery. It boasts over 80 species of trees as well as herbs, orchids, pitcher plants, and others. #yunnangarden #NTU #instagrammableplaces

Getting there:
Bus: Take Bus 179 from Boon Lay MRT or Pioneer MRT station. It stops in front of Yunnan Garden.

On foot: Another way to reach Yunnan garden on foot is to cross the overhead bridge next to Blk 910 at Jurong West St 91 over the PIE. The overhead bridge is next to the garden at the other end.

Antolin and Cha 2021-03-30 | If you miss the mesmerizing views of Japan during the cherry blossom season, consider a dreamy alternative right here in Singapore at the Japanese Cemetery Park. With its beautiful floral archways and quaint Japanese architecture, this peaceful park will whisk you to Japan with its well-manicured and zen-like surroundings.

For over a century, this park has served as the final resting place for various Japanese residents in Singapore – ranging from poor migrants who struggled to eke a living on our shores to wealthy merchants and even WWII military commanders. But it’s much more than just a graveyard, and you’ll uncover decades of history as you explore this tranquil spot.

The floral archway is a popular spot for photos, especially when the petals start to fall gracefully down onto the pathway. THE LONE TREE|Visited one of the Instagrammable Place in SG | Teleport transition Umbrella Academy

Antolin and Cha 2021-03-27 | The LONE TREE and its location are one of the instagramable places here in Singapore. Contrary to what it looks like at the first glance, the Lone Tree is not an actual tree! It is a sculpture made from recycled iron reinforcement bars salvaged from the old park’s path, an inspired way of reusing materials and an ode to the industrial origins of Jurong.

The sculpture forms a focal point that punctuates the expanse of the Grasslands. Its branches offer an unobstructed view of its surroundings, making it an ideal perch for raptors such as the Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus). It is also an ideal photo spot to vogue it out with your friends and create a photo series with mystical and ethereal vibes. Look for the Lone Tree in the Grasslands, a stone’s throw away from the South Carpark.

It comprises two conserved buildings that have been refurbished into the Botanical Art Gallery and 0:35 Forest Discovery Centre @ OCBC Arboretum, the COMO Adventure Grove, and additional trails, scenic lawn and landscaped areas and naturalised habitats. Points of interest at the Gallop Extension are Botanical Art Gallery (Gallop House No. 7 – Inverturret), 4:48 COMO Adventure Grove, Forest Discovery Centre @ OCBC Arboretum (Gallop House No. 5 – Atbara), Gallop Valley, Mingxin Foundation Rambler’s Ridge & OCBC Arboretum.

How to Get There
Alight at Botanic Gardens MRT and take a stroll towards Foliage Garden. From there, head towards the Nassim Gate Visitor Centre then walk towards the National Orchids Garden and head to the back going to the Tyersall Gate. Alternatively, you can walk along Cluny Road and Tyersall Ave.

If you are riding the bus, alight at Holland Rd, Bus Stop (B13021) Aft Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Bus Stop ((B13029)Before Tyresall Ave, and walk along Tyersall Avenue.

Antolin and Cha 2021-02-04 | Walking tour at Seletar Aerospace Park. Experience a slice of Singapore’s colonial past when you dine at Seletar Aerospace Park (SAP). In 1923, the British developed this area to house a Royal Air Force (RAF) station that served Singapore from 1928 to 1971.

To house RAF personnel and their families, numerous black and white bungalows were built with the help of Samsui women (female Chinese immigrants who took on construction jobs), who was also known to the British as “Concrete Lizzies”.

Today, Seletar Airport operates as a general aviation airport for chartered flights and training purposes. Of the former colonial houses, 32 have been slated for conservation and redevelopment as part of The Oval at Seletar Aerospace Park.

Nature and Wildlife: Tampines Eco Green | Get Closer to Nature | Singapore

Antolin and Cha 2021-01-23 | Tucked away in the Tampines heartland is Tampines Eco Green, a 36.5-hectare ecological park that resembles a savannah with marshlands, secondary forests, and freshwater ponds. The green sanctuary is home to over 75 species of birds, 20 species of dragonflies, 35 species of butterflies
and 32 species of spiders. To minimize disturbance to the sensitive wildlife in the park, the area is not lit at night.
This ecologically conscious park includes features like an eco-toilet, vegetated swales, bird hides, and green roofs on all the shelters. Even the park furniture was made using recycled materials and environmentally friendly products.
The park offers three trails, namely Diversity Trail, Forest Trail, and Marsh Trail, that weave through the secondary forests. Along those trails, nature lovers and wildlife photographers encounter nature at close proximity inside bird hides while visitors walk or exercise on the green, easy terrain. #ecogreen #nationalparkssg #hikingsingapore

Kusu Island : Explore the Nature at Singapores Southern Islands | Best Drone Shots | Island Cruise

Antolin and Cha 2021-01-09 | Kusu Island, also known as “Tortoise Island” in Chinese, is located right next to Lazarus Island, about 5.6km off the south coast of Singapore.

Legend has it that a Malay and Chinese fisherman, who were drowning due to their shipwreck, were saved by a giant tortoise. The two sailors returned to the island every year to make offerings and give thanks.

How to go to Kusu Island?
The most popular way to go to Kusu Island is by taking a ferry from Marina South Pier. There are 2 companies that provide ferry to Kusu Island, namely Marina South Ferries and Island Cruise.

The ticket costs SGD 15 and it includes stop at St. John’s Island without additional costs. MSF’s ferry ticket also include stop on Sisters’ Islands if you visit on weekends or Public Holiday.
