In those days, there were a lot of logs being transported in front of the temple on the Sakae Krang river. Hence, this temple is also familiarly known as Wat Tha Sung in which Tha (ท่า) means "pier" and Sung (ซุง) means "log" in Thai.The entire temple complex with the various temples and other buildings you could easily spend the entire day here. Nakhon Sawan Thailand Gateway To The North The Heavenly City Destinations Unknown 2022-09-19 | Nakhon Sawan city and province is one of my favorite locations to visit in north central Thailand and in my opinion is superior to many of the over rated famous tourist traps like Chiang Mai city farther north. Oddly totally ignored and forgotten by many guide books and travel channels.Some of the best and cheapest Thai food found anywhere in Thailand prices range between twenty to fifty baht can be found here in numerous locations throughout the city.Transportation throughout the city by Songthaew from 6am to 5pm is at a set rate of 10 baht no so having to deal with dodgy and corrupt transport that is so common in many tourist areas. Just hand the driver 10 baht once you arrive at your location. If you are looking for your typical tourist trap party town with foreign food, massage shops, girly bars and motorcycle rentals you will likely find this city and province very boring. Founded as far back as 40 BC Nakhon Pathom is considered of of the oldest cities in Thailand. The Ghost Train Of Taphin Hin Thailand Destinations Unknown 2022-03-10 | The ghost train refers to train I was told by the ticket agent that did not exist and therefore instead of 5:30 am departure would have to wait until nearly 11pm at night and take the much more expensive air-con train to Bangkok. Having taken the same train just a week before farther down the line I knew indeed was still running. Went to purchase my ticket and the agent did not look pleased that I called her bluff and she lost face. Having spoken Thai to her before she should have realized I was indeed smarter than the average foreigner. I prefer the ordinary fan trains because I am able to open the windows and the Thais that board the train often sell food and drinks besides stopping at numerous stations to the small towns I visit with no foreigners. My train that was scheduled to depart at 5:30 am was delayed by over three hours and my connecting train in Bangkok was missed. Arrived home at 3am the next morning.Just be warned some of the trains have indeed been canceled because of Covid but many of the cheaper ordinary third-class trains are still running so the common Thais can still travel.Please Like, Share, and Subscribe to this unique travel channel.
