This week, two of Tiège Hanley's very first employees look back on 10 years of building the brand.
Tom and Tommy joined the team back in 2017, when the entire fulfillment operation ran on six folding tables and every box got hand-labeled and packed one at a time. In this episode, they reflect on what it was like joining a scrappy startup with a handful of people, how the original product formulas looked (and worked) differently than they do now, and the moment "side project" started to feel like something much bigger.
They also open up about working alongside co-founders Kelley Thornton and Rob Hoxie in those early years — and why the family-first culture from 2017 still shapes Tiège Hanley today.
Quick facts:
One of today's guests was Tiège Hanley's very first full-time employee, hired March 2017
The other joined that October, starting as a "Brand Ambassador" — boxes, emails, everything in between
Fulfillment ran out of folding tables — boxes were hand-labeled and shipped via USPS
Even the products have changed: original formulas looked and felt different before later ingredient updates
Behind the Brand continues next episode with a behind the scenes look at the logistics and operations of Tiège Hanley's 10-year refresh.
