I recently moved into my new 550-square-foot studio, and while the room treatment is still a work in progress, it gave me the perfect environment to test the JW Uni speakers from JW Speaker Lab. I first discovered this brand at the WAVE HiFi Show, and I was so intrigued by their compact, sealed design that I flew home with a pair to conduct this deep-dive audiophile review.

Initially, I was underwhelmed by the bass performance, but everything changed once I optimized my speaker placement using dedicated stands. In this video, I explore how boundary reinforcement and room acoustics can transform a lean-sounding monitor into a powerhouse of precision imaging and midrange detail. I also compare the JW Uni to the Starke Audio Beta 5 and my own reference ProAc speakers to see if these "giant killers" really hold their own against high-end hifi.
