In this video, I’m playing a smooth jazz guitar solo over Just the Two of Us, blending blues vocabulary with jazz phrasing to create a soulful, melodic approach to improvisation.
This tune is a great example of how you can mix pentatonic/blues ideas with jazz concepts like chord tones, guide tones, and passing lines. Throughout the solo, I focus on phrasing, feel, and targeting the harmony—while still keeping that smooth, laid-back vibe that defines this style.
