this electric shotgun necromancer build in diablo 2 reign of the warlock is the absolute best way to play skeletal mages hands down. it doesn't get any better than this unless @Blizzard decides to rework and buff them. you might be surprised how good this build is and you might be surprised which mercenary you need. how you control the build matters a lot as well which i go over and demonstrate.

use the unsummon command to de-spawn any mage and try again until all are the element you want.
