The Louvre is the most visited art museum in the world. They have masterpieces, art, and artifacts from many different time periods and places - including the old Babylonian empire. I know the Babylonians best for their mathematics, and the Louvre possesses a tablet (Tablet AO6770) that contains a math problem concerning compound interest. Today we solve the problem using modern methods and the linear interpolation method used by the Babylonians on the tablet, which is dated around 1700BC. #maths #mathematics #ancientmathematics
