Simply put, the algorithm has no regard for your child’s wellbeing. Whatever content it can serve your child to keep them on the app longer, it will… even if that content poses devastating risks to their physical and mental health.
So if you haven’t yet, start setting boundaries for your child online. Talk to them about the “why” behind the limits you set.
Help them understand that when you say no to certain apps, it’s not because you don’t trust them. Rather, it’s because you don’t trust the platforms created to exploit them.
