The Mona Lisa of Prehistory: Uncovering the Enigmatic Visage

I'm about to come face to face not only with the finest collection of prehistoric art in the world but also with the holy grail of prehistory itself Here she is la dame à la capuche But I like to refer to her as the Mona Lisa of prehistory despite the missing smile To me it is the most moving of all prehistoric works of art It is after all the earliest known representation of the human face And it's not just the regular face The eyes are hauntingly vivid And what's even more special about them is that they become eyes only when a shadow falls over the eyebrows just above the head She also doesn't have a mouth but that missing element makes her even more interesting and enigmatic.
