On Monday we were at Belfast Zoo with the grand children.
On the way out of the Zoo we passed the very sad and neglected Floral Hall.
Back in the 1930's, 40's, 50's, and well into the 60's the listed Art Deco Floral Hall, opened in 1936, was one of the city's most celebrated dance venues. In fact, during those decades it even earned the nickname of, The Ballroom of Romance.'
On the hoardings around the Floral Hall is the story of Sheila the elephant, -Belfast Zoo's most famous elephant resident.
