Constructed entirely of wood sourced from British Columbia and transported by railway, the building was completed in just three months, with workers operating seven days a week to bring the ambitious project to life.

Darley explores the property with Chef Nicolas Geoffray, who shares stories of the hotel’s rich past. Inside, vintage photographs displayed near the buffet area offer a glimpse into Montebello’s history throughout the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, adding depth to its preserved character.

Today, Fairmont Le Château Montebello offers visitors a timeless experience, where the craftsmanship and history of the structure create the feeling of stepping back in time.
