Culturallyâespecially in the U.S.âthereâs a deep discomfort with suffering. Even within the Church, we often avoid pain, dismiss struggle, and rush to fix what canât always be fixed.
We see this in Deliverance Ministries, where itâs often tied to dominion theologyâthe belief that we should be experiencing heaven on earth now. But thatâs not the reality we live in. The world is still broken, and suffering is part of the Christian journey.
When we treat all suffering as demonic, and healing as a guaranteed outcome, people are left feeling abandoned by the Churchâespecially when the âfixâ fails and theyâre blamed for it.
