Another of the most important symbols from ancient Egypt is the Wes Sceptre. The Wes Sceptre is frequently seen in depictions of the gods as a staff with a forked bottom. The top of the sceptre changes depending on which deity is holding it In the case of the creator god Ptah for example the Wes sceptre combined the Ankh the Jed the Wes itself and a circle representing unity and symbolising completeness with the number 4 Kings of Egypt from the early dynastic period are depicted with the Wes sceptre as a symbol of their power.
