After the laughs, the beauty of the journey sinks in. We leave the familiar hills of Tuscany behind and step into the peaceful charm of Umbria, walking from Sansepolcro to the quaint hilltop town of Citerna. Along the way, we follow the Tiber as it quietly winds its way toward Rome (although we never see it). It’s a scenic, soul-filling stretch that reminds us why we came—to walk the footsteps of Saint Francis and experience the slower rhythm of Italian countryside life.
