When I moved into my new home, I knew the kitchen had to become the heart of it. But having grown up in Germany, I’ve always noticed how differently many American kitchens feel compared to the slower, more practical kitchens I remember from childhood.
In this video, I’m sharing some of the traditional German kitchen habits and old-world homemaking practices I’m bringing into my modern American home to create a space that feels cozy, calm, and practical for everyday life.
From regular sourdough baking to using natural materials like wood, linen, and stoneware, these simple shifts are less about perfection and more about creating a kitchen that supports slower rhythms, homemade food, and gathering around the table again.
