In this UCSF Medical Grand Rounds (July 9, 2020), we begin with an overview of the current state of the pandemic, including a review of the surges in Southern and Western states. We then discuss the challenging issue of whether, and how, schools should open next month. Finally, we review the massive Covid-19 outbreak at San Quentin State Prison, discuss whether anything could have been done to prevent it, and consider what it might mean for the Bay Area more generally. The session is hosted by UCSF Department of Medicine chair Bob Wachter.
