Almost every week now I've seen someone ask "Why hasn't Sega Announced A New Sonic Game?" And a lot of people seem to give focus onto one or two specific points, but the actual answer is a lot more complicated than that.

With Sonic the Hedgehogs 30th Anniversary beginning in a few months time, I felt I would make some attempt to actually try and answer this question using actual examples and facts.
