In early September Dakota Access Pipeline construction workers bulldozed sacred Native American burial grounds the day after being informed of their location. Angry Native protestors (protectors) tried to stop them and were then assaulted by security guards with attack dogs.
This song and video were inspired by those events, and the knowledge that Kelcy Warren, the owner of the pipeline company, is a big fan of Jackson Browne's music. Warren once produced a tribute CD, inviting Bruce Springsteen, Lyle Lovett and others to cover Jackson's songs.
“I don’t know of anybody that admires Jackson more than me,” says Warren.
