The event from 10th July hosted by Dennis Tänzler, adelphi global and co-hosted by Dorothea Baltruks, Centre for Planetary Health Policy (CPHP) centered around “The nexus of heat, health and cost of living – addressing the monetary effects of climate change through labor, climate and health policy”.
By introducing the recently launched discussion brief on the nexus quantifying the monetary effects of heat and health effects for individuals in eight countries (Bangladesh, Brazil, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Nigeria and South Africa) were shared showcasing entry points in the triangle of labor, climate and policy to address the issue. Following the presentation of the report a discussion round was held to discuss implications for the mentioned policy fields as well as potential next steps and ways ahead on the road to COP31.
