Back in the late 80s, Codemasters tried to “protect” Pro Skateboard Simulator on the ZX Spectrum from piracy — and ended up creating one of the most laughably ineffective anti-piracy measures in gaming history. No extra code, no clever tricks, no hidden checks… just a “solution” so lazy that it might as well not have existed at all.
