This one is going to be hard to write. I’ve been with the show since late 2011, and have been doing these music extractions since 2012. This show and its music has meant so much to me, and I’m happy I was able to share it with the fandom at large these past 7 years.
The final ep includes more wonderful score from Anderson, and one final song from Ingram to round out the episode, season, and series.
William Anderson’s score makes me insanely emotional. We hear many returning cues one final time throughout the episode. I’ll go more into those in the track descriptions.
Daniel Ingram and Caleb Chan deliver us a final, emotional, beautiful song to end the series. There’s a ton to unpack there in those track descriptions.

--Track Specific Comments--
The final episode of the final season ends, fittingly, with one last song with the entire main cast. It’s a beautiful sendoff to the series, and the final part continues to make me tear up.
We begin simple and subdued, with just Twilight’s vocals and acoustic guitar. It’s a start that is reminiscent of “Embrace the Magic” from “Legend of Everfree.” As the first verse continues, percussion, piano, and bass is added, as the energy picks up. This leads to the first chorus, with Twilight gaining some backing vocals of herself, and some lovely arpeggios played on strings and piano. Some brass is subtly added in the background as well.
The next verse, this time sung by Pinkie and Rainbow Dash. Mandolin is added into the mix, along with a little synth for Pinkie, a wonderful callback to her earliest songs back in Season 1. For Dash’s part, electric guitar is added, again harkening back to her main instrumentation. This leads us to the next chorus, this time with the whole cast joining in. The instrumentation is much more filled out this time, with tons of counter melodies, and of course beautiful harmonies in the vocals.
This leads us to the final verses, sung by Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy. It’s hard to hear in the full mix, especially behind the brass hits, but listen to the instrumental and you’ll hear banjo added to the instrumentation for Applejack, and for Rarity some glockenspiel is added to match her style of score. Finally, we reach Fluttershy. For her character, the orchestra pulls back, and is replaced by a much more simple and quiet instrumentation, featuring mainly acoustic guitar again, with a simple cello accompanying.
From there, we build the instrumentation back up to the final chorus. Here the full chorus joins in, for one huge, beautiful final rendition. Tons of vocal harmonies and counter melodies ensue, led clearly by the Mane 6’s voices. Listen closely, and you’ll hear the My Little Pony motif being played on a synth instrument during this scene, as the Mane 6 reveal all of the main and side characters from the show. It’s a beautiful little touch to this scene. The song continues to build up to Twilight’s final lines, where it pulls back again. The instrumentation simplifies to just some simple woodwinds, with one final hit played by them, a guitar, with one final rise of the theme on strings and brass. The series ends on the final chord of the theme on acoustic guitar and strings, with a little music box flourish as the book closes.
This was the perfect way to send the series off. Thank you Daniel and Caleb.
