This is a video I've been wanting to make for a while. I've been slowly accumulating clips of the moon from various anime over the past couple of years. I made this a bit harder on myself then it really needed to be - I wanted this to be purely moon focused which meant there were a lot of really good moon clips which I had to discount from using as often there is a person as a focal point as well as the moon. I also restricted myself to only using 16:9 footage.
I finally said "screw it, I have enough moon footage now" and made the video three days before the deadline for the AWA Accolades competition, where somehow it was a finalist in the "artisic endeavour" category.
There's lots here I could do/change/add to make it a better video but honestly once things are done for me they're done so releasing it as is. I could collect far more moon clips but at the rate I was going it would probably take me another 2 years.
A couple random things I learned while making this - the standard anime moon is a full moon, gibbous and crescents are very rare.
Katanagatari is not only a great source for feet clips, it's also possibly the number 1 best source for moon clips.
Finally, though it's a fairly high amount, I actually used less anime in this than you might think. Due to the aforementioned discarding of moon clips if they also had people in them, I ended up using a few select sources quite a lot.
