Last year, a record-shattering AT FKT. This year, a broken rib at Barkley. Now, the quest for a sixth consecutive Cocodona finish.
After a 2025 season defined by his 45-day unsupported Appalachian Trail record, Jeff headed into the 2026 Barkley Marathons—only to leave with a broken rib on Loop 1.
He’s back ion his feet now, recovered and eyeing his 6th Cocodona finish. We talk through the mental reset after a DNF, the physical toll of the AT, and what it takes to consistently show up for 250 miles of technical Arizona trails.
