My review of The Kraken Wakes by legendary British author and giant of the genre John Wyndham who is also known for sci-fi classics like Day of the Triffids, the Midwich Cuckoos and the Chrysalids. The Kraken Wakes was released in 1953 and given the title "Out of the Deeps" for US audiences. It was Wyndham’s follow up to the Day of the Triffids and tells the story of an alien invasion and humanity's response to it through the eyes of two journalists. A masterpiece of tension-filled and thought-provoking sci-fi.
