Knit tops lose their shape at the shoulders before anywhere else and it's almost always because the shoulder seams weren't stabilized before sewing.
Stabilizing a shoulder seam is genuinely quick. Before you sew, lay a strip of knit interfacing, stabilizer tape, or clear elastic along the seam line and sew it right in as you stitch the seam. That's the whole thing. The strip adds enough structure that the seam can't gradually stretch out with wear and washing the way an unstabilized knit seam will.
