The Greene Space at WNYC & WQXR | The Innocence Project Presents: 20 Years Since Exoneration @GreeneSpaceNY | Uploaded December 2022 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Twenty years ago, five men who were wrongfully convicted of a violent assault in Central Park in 1989 were exonerated of charges brought against them as children. To mark the anniversary of that court decision, the Innocence Project presents “Twenty Years Since Exoneration” at The Greene Space. Guests will attend an audience-led conversation with Kevin Richardson and Raymond Santana, members of the Central Park “Exonerated Five,” and a live-stream of WNYC’s Notes from America with Kai Wright.
This event builds a conversation around how this case has affected the “Exonerated Five” specifically and about wrongful convictions in the U.S. more broadly.
