Mace Musings 002: Anxiety can't stand up to humor.

The moment I found something funny (imagining a scenario where this nurse was trying to bang me in front of my Mom) was the first signal that my major panic attack was starting to subside. To me, finding the humor in a situation is the first sign my anxiety is going away. I also use humor proactively to combat anxiety. It's a tool and a gauge for where I'm at mentally.

It's impossible for me to find something funny when I'm feeling super anxious, and it's impossible for me to feel anxious when I'm laughing my ass off.

Also, that nurse was into me.
