The VR gaming industry is facing a massive identity crisis, and a desperate new survival strategy might backfire. In this video, we look at why VR studios are stripping the virtual reality out of their best games to target the flat-screen market. I wanted to document and discuss the recent announcement from Vertigo Games revealing a flat-screen, third-person remake of Arizona Sunshine, which completely strips away the immersive, first-person mechanics that made this series a VR classic. Without the magic of a headset, does it just look like a generic, dated zombie shooter?
Even worse, we take look at the tragic case of Survios and Alien: Rogue Incursion. In an effort to expand their revenue, the studio pushed out the flat-screen Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition. Sadly, the gamble failed to make enough money, leading to devastating layoffs that have essentially shuttered one of VR's most iconic development teams.
Can a game designed around VR mechanics truly succeed on a flat screen? Let's talk about it.

![Metas SECRET Quest 3 Upgrade TESTED! Framesync is a Game Changer
Welcome back to the channel! Today, we’re diving into Meta Quest FrameSync. Meta has completely overhauled how the Quest handles frame timing, and I’ve been putting it through its paces to see if it actually delivers on that promise of buttery smooth VR with Assaissins Creed Nexus
I took the most demanding game I know Assassins Creed Nexus and ran it with FrameSync enabled versus PhaseSynce. The results are honestly, pretty impressive. We’re talking fewer stale frames, lower latency, and an overall improvement in immersion that makes the Quest 3 feel like it’s reaching its full potential.
In this video, I’ll show you:
What is FrameSync vs PhaseSync? (And why it’s a total game-changer for Quest 3 & 3S owners)
The Assassin’s Creed Test – Real-time OVR Metrics data showing the before and after.
